Fruits Basket is amazing.
Story Line-
This storyline was overall good. But it could use more action.

The characters could use some more work. I mean, there are 2 crossdressers (?)

This animation is really decent for a 2001 anime.

ANIME

The story is rather cute and sweet. A rather slow moving story with a lot more in the way of talking and cutesy look. The characters are fun and lively with their personalities but each one seems to be a stereo typical to an anime standard. Sadly, a lot of the story is not like the manga which would have made me really happy if it was closer. In fact, it was done before a ‘certain book’ that talks about a ‘certain someone’s’ gender and so they screwed up on the art décor for that. Though the story does keep the fact that it starts out really fun and then to the later middle and ending, it gets a bit more down and depressing. Just a little bit of a warning.
The Animation is pretty good though once in a while it seems to break a bit, but one thing that they didn’t get rid of was the way the actual artist draws the chibi ghost characters when something funny happens. I love that about the art in the manga and keep the two together even if the story is a bit different.
Tohru reminds me a lot like myself, her personality and how she takes care of anyone but she is a saint not to act like a crying little girl for what she had to go through. Now sometimes I do have a problem with just how she acts though. I want to yell at her ‘JUST CRY ALREADY!’ It’s a pain just how sweet and innocent she is.
The Music is really cute, though the opening is really two slow and annoying. I always wanted to skip it because it was both that and depressing. The English dub is a tiny bit better but not by much. The music in the background is good though some of the slice of life stuff is a little worse for wear in that it plays a little too often for my taste.
The voice acting in both the Sub and Dub are good but I lean much more into the English voices since they are better then the Japanese though I still don’t like it all the way. The voices are a little hard to listen to when you marathon it and you might want to take a brake between it. The show as a whole has much to be improved on but it is not a really bad show. I say rent in instead of buy the DVD.

Here are the reasons why I love this Anime so well.

Story - Excellant. It was real human and NOT as perverted like some other Animes. It's in one of the Anime genres - A slice of life. It's also very character related.

Characters - Perfect. They all seemed to be outcasts. I love a good outcast.

Animation - Beautiful. Very elegant and very detailed.

Overall - An Anime that is something special and a treat to watch.

I have both read the manga and watched the anime. There is so much love in Fruits Basket. I liked the manga a little bit more, but only because it had more. You don't even get to see all the zodiac in the anime!
The zodiac curse as a plot addition makes it so much more interesting.
All the characters have so much life. They have little quirks that make them just that much more loveable.
I was also satisfied with the manga ending. Anime ending, not so much.
I loved watching and reading Fruits Basket and highly recommend it.

At First when I saw this Im like eh ok but then when i watched more im like DAts Good Stuuf! Toru is a high school girl who lives by herself and is the sweetest person IN THE WORLD! Sadly when her mother passed away she had to live with her grandfather. Her aunt n uncle are moving into the house but they have to make it biger. So shes stuck with a tent n a forest. On the way to school. she sumbles into a land owned by the Soma's. Blahblahblah later she wins up living with them! But there's a secret that can not be reveald. Can they trust her with the secret? XD

Fruits Basket is one of my top 10 anime i have watched so far!

I love the in-depth characters and the wonderfully written storyline. But the ending ruined it all for me. It left us hanging, without telling us how the Sohma family curse ended and without introducing the rooster and the horse. But other than that, i loved it!!!
