So far, so good. The first opening (Again by YUI) was a good choice, and the first ending (Uso by SID) was also a good choice, as both suit the anime well. Both second opening & ending (Hologram by NICO Touches The Wall / Let It Out by Miho Fukuhara; respectively) were both good, but Hologram somehow lacks the 'umph' it needs for this series. However, Hologram did grow on me has the series progressed. The third opening theme, (Golden Time Lover by Sukima Switch) was... kinda weird. Nice, but not very enjoyable. The third ending, (Tsunai Da Te by Lil'B) was pretty good. It did suit the anime quite well, but I prefer the first two. Let's see how it'll grow on me.
The plot, unlike the first series, however, follows closely to the manga, even though I'm pretty sure they cut out tiny bits of stuff. Animation wise, it definitely looks better than the first series, as the colours are clearer and less dull. Seiyuu choices are OK as well. I'm glad they kept Ed & Al's seiyuu, 'cause they wouldn't be them if their voices changed, right? Casting Shinichiro Miki as Roy Mustang was a fantastic choice, as I prefer his voice over the old one. Winry's new seiyuu, as well as Riza's are all fine. Being the Tetsuya Kakihara fan I am, I'm ecstatic that they had him voice Kain Fuery. Kenta Miyake as Scar was a big thumbs up, I say!
So overall, I'd give a 10/10. Awesome songs, fluid animation, great plot, amazing seiyuu & brilliant characters. What else could I ask for? Studio BONES is definitely improving when it comes to animation & choice of music.
Those who havent watches FMA before, dont hesistate to watch this anime
This ANime, unlike the previous one, follows the plot written in the manga.
Overall storyline is really one of the best. It is 10x better than Bleach and Naruto.
It is definitely much more action-packed than the both of them. Lots of hand-to-hand combat + like what the title suggest Alchemy as well. The alchemy used includes the science in our world as well.
Furthermore, NOBOBY gets revived once you died. Unless you are not a human being. This concept is hardly present in most of the popular shounen mangas and if you lose a limb or an eye, you most probably would not get it back unless you have the Philosopher stone.
And Yup, this story is centered around the Elric Brothers trying to find a way to get back their bodies. A way in which nobody would get hurt. (at first, they thought of using the philosopher stone but later yhey found out a shocking truth!) Along the way, they met very interesting characters and start to mature even more and eventually discover how has alchemy as eventually shaped their world.
The emotions and regret express by the characters are definitely more heartfelt than typical shounen animes, cos in some situations you can put yourself in their shoes (even though it is a fantasy storyline). The have to sacrifice their precious things in order to achieve their goal ' To get back their original body.'
You would feel that the 25min long episode feels like 15min anime = i recommend you watch 5 epi every time cos it is too breath-taking. Cons: little flashback on the Elric brother younger days (manga have them)
Characters: Not your typical shounen characters. All of them have their own individual style and you 'watch' how their characters matured along the way. (Not everybody is like the perfect strawberry) Lots of comedy as well.
Animation: If you are comfortable with The Poster, you definitely will accept their drawings in the animation. Clean-Cut action scenes
Music: Great OST and opening ending songs like the '1st season of FMA'
OVERALL JUST WATCH IT, IT IS WORTH EVERY SECOND OF IT. IF YOU DONT HAVE TIME JUS DONT WATCH FILLER EPISODES OF CERTAIN ANIMES : p

2 brothers, travelling around the worlds, doing missons, fighting bad guys.
Yeah, we get a lot of that in the shounen section, but..What makes this anime/manga different?
Firstly, the alchemy that draws you in, We've seen death gods, we've seen ninjas, heck, we've even seen rubber pirates.
So, alchemist, no big yeah?
But no, alchemy is something that DO EXIST, all the other things I've said exist too, ninjas exist ..But what's different here? The concept.
"In order to get what you want you must sacrifice something of the same value" . That is the only reason why I like the fighting, the power-ups and everything else.
In other shounen mangas and animes that I've watched, the hero(s) all have superhero powers that makes me go "wtf". In short, I hate anime and mangas that looks like Justice League. I mean, sure it's fiction, but to suddenly be able to cast spells or fire lasers with your eyes? We've been seeing a lot of superhuman powers in Shounen section.
But FMA is not about unnatural superpower, no. It's about the concept I talk about, "In order to get what you want you must sacrifice something of the same value". Ok, this point may sound a little ridiculous.
Moving on, Secondly, the characters that draws you in, Edward Elric is, uh 14. But that's not the first thing you should notice, yes the one you should notice is Al, his brother. Which at the start of the show you did not know that its that giant guy wearing a huge armor and looks like it wants to pick a fight.. and..he's not as intimidating as he look, in fact he's a kind and funny guy once you get to know him. But the real funny one here and the one usually used for comedy relief is none other then Edward. He's funny, and doesn't want others calling him short and he's optimistic, despite having a past that is like hell. Admit it, you'll die if you've been through Elric's past.
And about his appearence, ok he's short. But whats important to note is..He have a freaking mechanic arm and leg, but he's not a cyborg!
How often do you get that?! Seriously, even gundam can't beat this. To top it up, we have characters like Hughes, the old geezer with the eyepatch, and Roy, the fire alchemist who seems to be the most complex in the series. Oh and the villans, man, this is going to be long. Just watch the anime, you'll love to hate the villans.
Storyline:
The storyline is deep and complex..or not. If you look at it on the surface, it's nothing more than 2 kids on a freaking treasure hunt for a freaking pebble the size of a..well, a pebble. But that pebble holds a deep secret, a deep meaning, and the anime brings the past to the present. Including the appearence of Scar, someone of a vengeful race, and the past of Elric brothers, the "Truth", and the appearence of the dark and yet pleasing villans. Ok, to be honest, the only reason why I started this was because Yui sang the opening. Yeah, the opening "Again" the lyrics is so epic that I..Oh wait, no drifting off.
But after that, I became completly addicted, and now I wish so much for the next episode. I know its kindda like a remake. But looking at the art, I can only say: "Someone go erase the original fma from this world..please?"
The first few episodes were not as epic as I though, i just fast forward through some parts. But after that it gets good.
The chimera episodes were the most most shocking and yet, flawless arc ever. Just seeing what Tucker did to his daughter, made me feel like I can be right there, and shoot a bullet through his heart, if he even have one. That's when the anime points out, in a way the Elric brothers is kindda the same. After seeing that scene, I was like "This anime is gooood"
and after seeing the death of hughes afterwards ,
"this anime is god" .was all I was thinking. I thought the author won't kill of characters after developing them for the past 10 episodes, take hughes for example. But then, when the trigger was pulled. I knew one thing, FMA is the closest anime to reality. Humans are fragile, and this anime potrayed it not once but twice.
Whoa, I just wrote a h**** of words. Well, This is overally one of the greatest and one of the anime that I'm currently addicted to. I din't watch the first FMA. And you don't need to, just watch brotherhood.
It's so, so so much better. The music is ok, just don't mind it too much yes?

The story begins with the two Elric brothers, Edward Elric, the eldest and Alphonse Elric two years younger than Edward, are two Alchemists in training. They follow the law of Alchemy of Equivalent Exchange that to obtain, something of equal value must be lost. When the Elric brothers try and bring their mother back from the dead just, they use the forbidden taboo, human transmutation, the exchange was for Edward to lose his right arm and Alphonse to lose his whole body. Edward suddenly gained knowledge of everything in the Alchemy world 'beyond the gate’ and quickly exchanged his left leg for his brother's soul and sealed him in side a suit of armour. All in all, the human transmutation did not work and what they had to exchanged gave them nothing in return.
The only way to get their bodies back, the Elric brother's must find the Pholoshipher stone to ampilfy their Alchemic powers so they can obtain their bodies. For this to happen Edward must become a dog of the military and become a state Alchemist.
FullMetal Alchemist: Brotherhood is not a continues of the original first series but everything that is in the manga. One of the reasons was that BONES, the company that created FullMetal Alchemist, wanted to do the anime based on the manga because 1. The manga was not finished and the ending could end in heaps of different ways than the anime 2. Fans wanted more FullMetal Alchemist. FullMetal Alchemist: Brotherhood does not follow the movie FullMetal Alchemist: The Conqueror of Shamballa.
