Overview
Freshman Nimura Kensuke has the ability to see ghosts, and his life changes when he meets Kagura, a girl with the power to summon a "Ga-Rei" called Byakuei. The two work together to find evil spirita and devour them with the Ga-Rei.
The Japanese Ministry of Defense has an anti-paranormal special forces group called the Supernatural Disaster Prevention Office. The show is a prequel to the manga and is set before the events of the manga and is about Japan being under siege by various evil paranormal forces with the public being defended by the Ministry of Defense's Supernatural Disaster Prevention Agency and the Ministry of Environment's Supernatural Disaster Countermeasures Division; a mission being led by the SDPA leads to multiple casualties, forcing the SDCD's intervention.
