Character Background

Ha Kang Jae is a cool but kind-hearted gangster. He doesn't know any other way of solving problems except using his fists. Kang Jae has a long-time girlfriend, Park Yu-Jin (Kim Kyu Ri). Things do not seem going well between them since the start of the story as Yu-Jin struggles with her pregnancy and fear that Kang Jae may not want the baby or want to be with her anymore. Yet after Kang Jae finds out that she is pregnant, he takes responsibilty and promises to stay with her to look after the child.

However, he did not expect to fall in love with her neighbour, Mi Joo, a poor plastic surgeon. He admires her courage and kindness as she looks after children in her spare time. At first, Mi Joo finds Kang Jae annoying as he always happen to show up everywhere but she began to fall in love with her. Things were rather difficult at first because of Kang Jae's pregnant girlfriend. Yu-Jin was extremley jealous of Mi Joo and creates lies to try to prevent Kang Jae from meeting Mi Joo. Due to the stress of this, she eventually loses the baby leaving Kang Jae freely to go with Mi Joo. He is very protective of her and makes sure no harm comes to her from his enemies. He also has a jealous side when he sees Mi Joo talking to other men.
