Heart of Greed

Heart of Greed (Chinese: 溏心風暴) is a 40 episode drama series which aired on April 9, 2007 in Hong Kong by Television Broadcasts Limited.

Ling Howl, A wealthy woman (played by Lee Sze Kei) marries Tong Yan Gai (played by Ha Yu) and they have two offsprings (Bosco, Fala). The man opened a of Chinese dried-seafoods store specialising in abalones, which eventually expanded into several chain stores after years , as well as owning other shop-units which they rent out. Despite failures of the retail Chain-stores which resulted in the closure of all branches except the Main branch heir wealth grew to an estimated 600 million Hong Kong dollars. The woman suggests to the man that when she dies she hopes that he can have another woman in his life and so she suggest another woman (Sussana Kwan) to marry him and they do and in doing that they have a child (Chris Lai). The woman is very smart and knows things very well, and sees that the second wife is no other than a greedy person so she kicks her out and tells her husband to treat her as a normal friend. After she has died of cancer, on her death bed the greedy woman fakes pleading and begging her for forgiveness, when her son (Chris Lai) out of grief lies that she forgives her when she actually said normal friends. The husband takes this as a chance to once again accept the second wife back to the family house. After disputes, other members of the family agree with the couple that they do not marry until another 3 years just to prove that the second wife has truly changed. But at a trip to Europe the second wife's son persuades his dad to marry her, because he truly thinks that it does not matter if they marry or not because the woman just wants a title as wife, they marry. But in secret the second wife is only marrying him because in Hong Kong there is a law that if the man wants to divorce the woman the woman can ask for almost half or more of the husband, in which case is about 300 million. She gets help from her secret lover and gets a lawyer to advise her what to do. Because of many disputes, the husband cannot stand it and repeatedly suffer from strokes, after three strokes he dies.
