Hot Shot

Guys I am absolutely loving this series so I thought I might as well share my 2 cents!! I've noticed that I have a thing for 'sporty' dramas (with the addition of eye candy of course)! Seriously though, Jerry, Chun and Show is not the only reason why this drama is so hot (though they do make up 99.9% of the 'hotness' lol).
Rather, it's the way in which the story is executed that I love, the way the characters interact, chemistry. Even those who are unfamiliar to me, they fit the role so perfectly that I couldn't imagine anyone else playing that role. If there's anything that would stop me from finishing a drama then that's poor script and poor chemistry-but then again that's just individual opinion, though dramas like Romantic Princess, FTLY etc had great ratings, for some reason they just weren't my cup of tea.

Its usually the small things that do it for me, clever or witty one liners, subtle romance, kick ass comical stunts-WITH the right facial expressions, which, hats of to Show, he has done so well in this drama (I have never seen him act before- he is just sooo damn funny in this, his acting really is worthy of praise!!

It does all depend on what kind of dramas you like, but I'm pretty easy when it comes to genre, and this one really fits the entertaining, comical, and wacky category. its humour borders on ridiculous, but that's what makes it so much fun. Films that are exaggerated to the fullest- the likes of Kung Fu Hustle and Kill Bill may not be to every ones taste, but as far as entertainment value goes, it sure gets my vote.

I guess the final point that I'm trying to make is for people who reckon this drama and its stunts are so fake and so exaggerated that its pathetic. But if you ask me, lol that is the whole point, the fact that its based on a manga should say it all. Its supposed to be exaggerated, its supposed to have unreal moments and yes its got to be humanly impossible to the extent that it seems ludicrous-that's what its all about!! All you've got to do is sit back and enjoy the show (without thinking too much!)

Exactly! It's part of the show... maybe even kinda like another actor or role you know what I mean?
The entertainment value is high and makes you be placed in "world" where anything can happen. Anything as in silly things.

the flying totally put me off ... lol ! well it puts me off when it gets to the basketball scenes.
but i absolutely love the rest of the show ...
i think they should have aimed to par the basketball action to that seen in My MVP Valentine ...
Now that show seriously has good basketball ! It totally schools the basketball seen in this ...
Don't get me wrong, I love basketball, love the game, grew up watching the game, grew up playing the game, so don't hate on me for hating on the 'flying'. Cause to me, it just defies the laws of hangtime ... and ultimately makes the whole thing look bad ...
And yes... I know that it is based on a manga ... But really, coming from a country that absolutely loves basketball, I would have thought that they wouldn't take it too light heartedly and make it identically comical ... I mean, My MVP Valentine was also based on the manga 'Slam Dunk' and the basketball seen in that series was ALL REAL !
Like to prove my point even further, the flying in this makes Michael Jordan's 'Air Jordan' dunk seen in 'Space Jam' look real ! ahahahahaha !

So with an exception of Jerry Yan doing this whole flying dunk thing, I gotta say, I'm not really digging it ... As someone who plays basketball, its only good for a laugh, which I guess they were aiming for ...

epi 5 will justify the flying basketball style.

the flying basketball is so corny. But its interesting to watch with all the cute boys in it :oD so i don't mind.

same same! so far it's really funny and cool ... and HOOT

I think it makes the drama really fun to watch and for Yuan Da Ying's character, it's just hilarious!
