Summary:
Set against the backdrop of the Blue House (Korea’s equivalent of the White House), this drama is not about the bigwigs and the politics of the House but is about those who run the House from behind the scenes.
Yeo Bong-soon (Eugene) is a happy-go-lucky girl who realized recently that she has a talent for cooking. She’s optimistic about everything and overly hard-working, which explains why she always gets up at four in the morning. On top of everything, she has a thick Kang-won Province accent, which often leads to a lot of people not understanding what she’s saying. Yet as misunderstood as she often is, people eventually warm up to her, won over by her bright personality. Such is the case for Jang Jun-won (Ryu Jin), the kindly doctor who is the president’s son and currently taking care of his wife who has Alzheimer’s, and Jun-won’s bodyguard Nam Bong-ki (Lee Min-ki), a major player who hates doctors and initially deems Bong-soon to be a woman of the lowest quality. When Bong-soon becomes a presidential chef, sparks start flying in the Blue House.

연탄재 같은 아름다운 사람들이 전하는 삶의 메시지.
‘사람이 힘이고 희망이다’
‘진짜진짜 좋아해’의 가장 새로운 점은
‘청와대 요리사와 집사들’이라는 소재에 있다.
‘청와대’라는 그간의 드라마에서는 다루지 않았던 금기(禁忌)의 공간과 미지(未知)의 사람들을 브라운관 속으로 불러 모아 새로운 느낌의 주말극으로 만들어보려고 한다.
그러나 청와대를 메인 공간으로 끌고 왔음에도 이 드라마의 주인공은 대통령 일가가 아니다. 이 드라마의 관심은 대통령과 대통령 일가에 있지 않고, 수십 년 동안 여러 대통령 일가를 맞이하고 배웅하며 늘 역사의 현장에 있었지만 철저하게 없는 존재로 살아왔던 청와대의 진정한 주인들, 대통령의 요리사, 주방 아줌마들, 40년 지기 목수아저씨, 대통령의 사진사, 경호원, 그리고 그 경호원들의 흠모의 대상인 무궁화회 여직원들에 있다.
대한민국에서 가장 특별한 직장에 근무하는 이들의 흥미로운 일상과, 아무도 알아주지 않지만 자신들이 만든 요리가, 문짝이, 전화 한통이. 외교가 될 수 있다는 마음으로 나라를 위해 대통령만큼 열심히 일을 하는 그들의 소박하지만 감동적인 장인(匠人) 정신을 드라마에 담아보고 싶다.
그래서 이 드라마의 주요 공간인 ‘청와대’는 최고 권력의 장이나 금기의 장으로서 의미가 있다기보다는 대한민국에서 가장 열심히 일하는 사람들의 공간으로서 더 큰 의미를 가진다. 권력의 냄새가 아니라 인간의 살 냄새가 풍기는 청와대, 국민들이 원망하는 청와대가 아니라 원하는 청와대의 모습을 유쾌하게 구현해내어 지쳐있는 국민들에게 다시금 새로운 희망의 메시지를 전하고자 한다.
