Overview
In the latest "stage" of the Initial D series, Takumi Fujiwara has now joined forces with the Takahashi brothers, former members of the Red Suns, to form the traveling street racing team Project D. Along with Takumi as the downhill ace in his Toyota Sprinter Trueno, Keisuke Takashi makes up the uphill half of the leaders of the Red Suns, Project D with his Mazda RX-7 FD . With Ryosuke as the team director, Takumi and Keisuke will now venture outside only to be beaten by the mysterious Gunma prefecture who challenge teams on their own turf.
