Edward Siaboc Jr. known as Jay-R, was born January 12 1987 in Toledo City, Cebu, Philippines. The youngest of 5 siblings, Jay-R grew up not having much. He was forced to quit school in order to help out his parents. Jay-R used to live in Manila with his uncle who introduced him to the band scene, unfortunately Jay-R was too young to work in a band at that time and had to go back home to Cebu. Later, Jay-R got to pursue his dream and became the vocalist of the band Scrambled Eggs. He than quit the band to audition for the reality TV Show Pinoy Dream Academy. He got first runner-up to Yeng Constantino. However, he still won a Belgian Waffle Mallcart, motorcycle from Suzuki, a brand new condominium unit in Chateau Valenzuela from Globe Asiatique, P500,000 cash prize from Fitrum, a vitamin supplement, and a recording contract.
