JunJin Extras
Jun Jin (Korean: 전진, Hanja: 前進, literal meaning: 'moving forward/advance'; real name: Park, Choong-Jae, 박충재, 朴忠裁) was born on 19 August in 1980.
He is probably best known for being a member of the longest running Korean male group to date, Shinhwa (신화).
His father is singer Charlie Park (찰리박; also called Park Young Chul, 박영철) who made his debut with a solo album, 'Casanova Sarang', in 2004. His biological mother left the family when Jun Jin was young and he has since lived with a stepmother who took care of him as if he was her own son.
Jun Jin made his debut as a dancer and rapper for Shinhwa in 1998, but started singing small parts in Shinhwa's 5th album, '2002'.
He eventually pursues his own singing career by making debut in 2006 with his solo mini album, '사랑이 오지 않아요' (translates to 'Love Doesn't Come'), with a total of five songs, including the title song and its instrumental.
Surprisingly, he decided to release a ballad even though he is known for his strong dance skills. This may be due to the fact that ballads are popular in Korea right now; dance artists such as Baek Ji Young. Even Jun Jin's own group, Shinhwa have released atypical (for them) ballads for their lead singles.
In December of 2006, Jun Jin was hospitalised for unknown reasons and although recommended to stay in the hospital, he quickly left to return to his promotional schedule.
In January 2007, Jun Jin filmed a music video with a Taiwanese singer named Linda.
