Hereby I have to write about the values of Junko Takeuchi,
Well, let me begin my story. I live in Hungary, and in this country unluckily are no anime in original language.
The studios buy the new animes, and they immediately start to make the Hungarian audio translation for it to tell some examples: Yu-Gi-Oh, Pokemon, Dragonball.. etc. They also try to rate the series but, unfortunately, they ruin everything with cutting the parts, because they are not childproof, often have wild language and mature stuff in the stories. I felt that something was not right.
The biggest story was the Dragon ball incident: they shut down the series from one day to another, because kids started to copy the behavior of the characters, and that went to far, until a kid jumped out from their window, calling the magic cloud. The parents started some law procedures, and after a huge money warrant the TV station finished airing the show.
About 3 years ago I found out what was the problem, before this time I never watched any anime and read manga in original language, uncut. The first anime what took my virginity was Hellsing, and slowly I loved the style (although I have to say I was always interested in anime). And soon my friends gave me a lot of stuff to watch: Wolf's rain, Loui the rune-soldier, Full metal Alchemist... etc. And finally the solution of the mystery came to my mind: what happened in Hungary with the anime? The answer is so simple I was completely blinded by it. The adulthood in Hungary are easy to say what is drawn, that can only be a Walt Disney cartoon, with a story perfect for the children, but they haven't noticed that the animes are not made for kids, they preferably made for Adults, therefor they have mature things, strong language, and harsh violence (in some).
Meanwhile, a friend of mine said: "I have something for you to see, It's new but I think you will like it very much." Well at firs I suspected I wont like it because the new style animes like Pokemons are not as good as the classic ones, but what could I do? "All right let's give it a shot" - I said.
That show was the Naruto series, from the first part I knew we have found something fantastic, but that was just the beginning. I watched 180 parts of Naruto in 7 days. I got carried away with the universe, the chars, the system, the dynamics of the story, and the meaning of the lessons what is hidden in the plot, that slowly but constantly started to change me and my whole life. This wonderful saga showed me a really good role model, Naruto himself. I have to tell there are some resemblance between us: blond, short, fuzzy hair, blue eyes, every one thinks of us as big dumb asses, both have a very strong will and determination, and on, and on, and on... I finally learned to Never Give Up. I have to thank to the whole staff involved in making Naruto live on the screen, 'cause that kid made me a different person.
I have to confess, I know very few about Junko Takeuchi, I don't know where she had born, when is her birthday, what region she lives in Japan, of what is her favorite food. I never even knew she is the voice of Naruto (and Akamaru) until my friend (the same who has presented me Naruto) told me. 2 years since this happened and I have to thank this wonderful lady what she does, for the world, and for me as part of it. I really got afraid what will happen if the series will end, but now I learned from Naruto, if I never give up and stand up from every thing what life beats me, and by being persistent I can do whatever I plan or I dream of!
Though I will really miss the voice of Naruto, and Miss Takeuchi.
I have to say:
Thank you Junko Takeuchi, 竹内 順子 for changing my life!
