Don't judge an anime by its first episode!
Storyline: Kannagi is filled with comedy, drama, supernatural, and just a little bit of romance. The comedy part of it is very good. I find myself still cracking up over the karoke scene. The drama is also good. I didnt find it really cliche...which is good :D.
Music: I really liked the opening! It showed a lot of Nagi's character.
Characters: Nagi is hilarious. Jin is an idiot but funny. They make a good pair of main characters!
Animation: Well well done! At least thats what i think .
Overall this is one show that when the dvd is on sale U MUST GET IT!

What kannagi is about
Kannagi is what I like to call the perfect anime! The storyline is very fresh, its not like all the other animes which involves a poo load of serious business. The characters are all special in there own way to make this anime very random and funny. The animation is also great because they dont have the gigantic eyes that mesmerize you. Also the animation is awesome because everything is detailed to perfection everything looks sort of 3D.Ok so basically the whole anime starts of with Jin Mikuriya who carves out a statue out of the kannagi tree, of a Shrine maiden he saw when he was little. When he was done the wood started shaking and a shrine maiden taken over the place of the statue and became a living breathing creature. Together Nagi(the shrine maiden) and Jin work together trying to purify every impurity they find that tries to cause misfortune. Along there path they meet Jin's family friend,his friends who are in the art club and Nagi's sister. I could tell you more but I don't want to spoil the whole anime.
