Overview
In Shijuku, near future, consecutive murders occur. The victims were deprived of their body fluid. They know a guy named Eko is the murderer. He used to be “Karas”, a guardian of the town, but before they knew it, he named himself Eko and began to revenge himself on human races.
Yurine is the person who directs Karas to save the town. In order to stop murder, she chooses Otoha as a new Karas. Then, a battle of two Karas begins.

In every city is a protector. They are named Karas; humans who gave up their life to protect the city. Karas are chosen by the will of the city itself, and when there's a Karas chosen, a Yurine; the Partner of the Karas will be born as well. Together are they protecting the city against many things like evil ''Youkai's .
In a city is there a guy called Eko. He was once a Karas, but realized his might and wanted to take over the city with his power as Karas. Of course is there an another karas who's trying to stop him taking over the city.
Karas won the Best Original Video at the 2006 Tokyo Anime Award competition. This indicates that there was actually an anime that isn't ripped off, but made with originality. The most of the people were surprised what a fusion from 2D and 3D could do with Anime. But, there were a bit of confusing parts. Like how the buildings, people and fights were animated. Some couldn't even follow the story because of the strange art.
