Keiichi Shimizu is an usually lethargic cellist whose life revolves around music. At school, he can only be seen either sleeping outside of class, studying music, or playing the cello. When awake, he is always quite drowsy, and he tends to speak very slowly and softly. Many call him “Sleeping Beauty” because of his handsome looks and his habit of sleeping anywhere, anytime.
Outside of sleeping, Keiichi absorbs himself in music by often attending concerts and musical events, going to the library to read about music, and playing the cello. At Seiso Academy, he is a first year music student and a participant in the concours, making him even more involved in the world of music. Because of this lifestyle, he doesn’t seem to have many friends outside of his family. However, he does become friends with Kahoko Hino when she tumbles over his sleeping form on the ground outside the school. The reason for Keiichi’s incessant drowsiness is unknown, but with encouragement from his new friend, there is hope for him to stop sleeping his life away.
