Ko Hyeon-jeong (Hangul: 고현정; born March 2, 1971 in Hwasun, South Jeolla, South Korea) is a Korean actress and model. She graduated from Dongguk University, majored in Performing Arts. She won "2nd place (선, 善)" in the nationwide beauty contest "Miss Korea" in 1989.
Ko Hyeon Jeong won 2009 MBC Drama Award's Daesang (highest award, similar like Artist of the Year) for her role as Lady Mishil in the 2009 drama Queen Seon Deok. Last March 2010, Ko again won the Daesang for the same role at the 46th Baeksang Arts Awards. She currently working for her next TV project Daemul alongside Kwon Sang Woo in which Ko plays South Korea's first female President.
Ko married Jeong Yong-jin, Vice Chairman and Co-CEO of Shinsegae and grandson of Samsung founder Lee Byung-chull on May 1995. This was the most talked about wedding in Korea at that time. Ko announced her retirement from acting after to focus on her new role as a wife. They had 2 children together, 1 boy and 1 girl.
On November 2003, Ko and Jeong divorced after 8 years of marriage. Since their divorce, Ko hasn't seen her children as Jeong took full custody of them.
In 2005, two years after the divorce, Shinsegae Department Store had passed down a ruling that stated that none of its stores are allowed to display any Go Hyun Jung-related material. This includes all her product endorsements. It is rumored that the ruling is still in effect.
