Tsunade is the current leader or hokage of the hidden leaf village. She first gave up the idea and lost faith in the job after her boyfriend died trying becoming the hokage. However she gains hope after meeting Naruto who reminds her of the good of the job in the village. However protecting the village has not made her perfect. Tsunade commonly avoids her duties and proves time and time again to hate her paperwork.

Most of Tsunade's characteristics are easy to spot. She has a short temper and is considered one of the worst gamblers ever. Her skills were so bad she was dubbed " the legendary sucker". When in luck Tsunade decides that bad luck is coming and tightens security. This ties in with her image of looking around 20 give Tsunade a strange list of traits. However she is very skilled, she is able to heal what most consider imposable. She also has monstrous strength that could turn a building to ruble. At the end of Part I she takes on Sakura as an apprentice to teach her healing abilities, Sakura although never officially also seems to pick up on Tsunade's strength as well.
