Every few years, the prestigious Seiso Academy holds a prominent musical competition, and only the very best students at the Academy are allowed to participate. Though all are eligible to apply, only students from the music department actually make it to the competition...until now.
I've always loved classical music even though I never played an instrument. This series really helped me understand why, and I've actually learnt a few pointers about scores and whatnot. Most of all, it is great knowing the names of some of the compositions played. I feel more confident in my choice of musical purchases. I also love the song at the beginning of the anime. Who sings it and what is it called? Although the storyline seems exhausted near the end, it could use a fresh content and I think by adding the new director and the other two players is a good start. I hope this series continue with that in mind.

For all those who was confused about the ending, I recommend just going back to the manga. The manga pretty much left you hanging as well, so of course the anime is going have to leave you hanging too.
I kind of like this ending a bit more than the manga. Even though it did stray off on the setting of the story, but at least they still kind of kept the storyline points.
My overall score on this anime is 4.5/5
The reason of it is of course because it was a fantastic show, but because of the manga that they made their ending like that it was a bit disappointing. But for making it such a great ending and an ending that urges the audience to want to see Kahoko's perform her performance on her love for music!!! It was a good ending!!! ^_^
Clap Clap! yeah i like la corda doro secondo passo. even though ive only seen the first few episodes it has a great story line although its one of those one girl and a ton of guys crush on her kind of thing. but this series inspired me to start playing the piano and now im currently an intermediate!WOohoo! anyways its a great anime both the first and second series. i really liked the story and it goes out to all the fans that there's something so much ahead for everyone. It appears to be a li'l bit like i want some more episodes. Also there's a lot more that should happen like for example, what's the true story behind kaji's sudden affection for hino, kiriya's funny stalking on hino and whether tsukimori's going to vienna austria or not. Now i have to spread a li'l bit of my opinion. I just hope that some la corda d'oro fans would just stop spreading rumors like, last year some of them said, "there will be no season 2" or something like that. It made two things; first, it made all the other fans confused or disappointed and second, spreading a leak means spoiling all the fun from aniplex and kure yuki's more surprises to come. All we fans can do is to wait. La Corda d'oro is so popular in Japan right now. Remember. Lots more surprises. And let me show you guys a little something. If you look at the official website of la corda secondo passo in aniplex japan and look at the NEWS section, you will see an image that says SAMPLE on it ( just look at my images in my acct VASANTEE). Those two images of Yunoki and Hihara at the bottom of this Aniplex pic are the images I HAVE NOT YET SEEN in any of the two special episodes of la corda secondo. SO where could these images belong to? Hmmmmmm.... A third episode?! I don't know. Maybe. Still optimistic. COME WHAT MAY> mwah. More power to la corda d'oro.
Also i'd like to add another funny thing about secondo passo. Although we're quite disheartened by the fact that Akihiko-sensei suddenly excluded HIno from the ensemble, here's the somewhat funny thing about it. He mentioned, " on that day, I MET AN ANGEL" as an ensemble itself. And if we analyze it and think about it, the reason why he excluded Hino is that " She's that ANGEL that musicians should DEDICATE THEIR MUSIC TO." And it all just happened just because of that ONE FINE DAY THAT HE BUMPED UNTO HINO . And since he's taking advantage of his position as the school new principal or kind of like that, he thought of that certain ensemble right away. AND THAT IS WHY THE THEME OF IT ALL SAYS "ON THAT DAY, I MET AN ANGEL". Which is, what he's just trying to say is that, "I just met Hino ,that li'l angel,so i'm gonna come up with an ensemble for the festival that's not only for the people but also for her, so musicians or concour people, for cryin' outloud, do your thing!!!!" That's all.
The storyline as well as the music is truly what touches your heart. This series is what made me start raising money to purchase my own violin; so that I could start playing again. Truly touching and captivating; this series will connect with music lovers and anyone else who watches it. Though the Secondo Passo is rather short it is no less entertaining. Music, love, and a love for music is what gives this anime its spark; and will keep you watching again and again.
A second year student at the prestigious Seisou Academy, a school where students specializing in music are considered elite, Kahoko Hino is the typical nondescript student studying in the general education stream. She has also never laid her hands on a single musical instrument in her life.
However, Kahoko's chance encounter with the school's magic fairy catapults the quiet girl into the limelight. In addition to gifting Kahoko with a magical violin which allows her to play any tune she wishes, the fairy also grants Kahoko a coveted spot in the school's music competition, which she reluctantly accepts.
With a host of prejudiced students as well as rivals trying to triumph over her in the competition, can Kahoko discover her passion for music and gain true courage, friendship and love in the process?

For most fans of La Corda d'Oro/Kin'iro No Corda, this second series, no matter how short, has been a blessing. Sure, the main plot is all over and whatnot, but to fans who were deeply impacted by this series were really glad to have another two episodes. Most fans have read the manga La Corda d'Oro. We meet three new characters that were already in the manga that make an appearance in the second series--Aoi Kaji, Akihiko Kira, and Kiriya Eto. The second season gave the only-anime fans a look into the other characters in the manga...not to mention, Aoi stole some of the spotlight in the second episode. Also, the new arc from the manga about Kaho getting scared to stand on stage is also present in the second season. Both seasons have been a great hit, and hopefully this will encourage anime-only fans to read the manga. The series, to my opinion, has been fantastic and amazing. The series is very unique, and probably unlike any other series there is. It is wonderfully illustrated, and the end of this season was a breath-taking finish.
