Lee Min Ho is a South Korean actor who is best known for his leading role as the leader of F4, Goo Jun Pyo, in the Korean adaptation of the popular manga series, Hana Yori Dango, titled Boys Over Flowers, in 2009. He started his career in 2006 since then has been cast in various TV serials, short dramas and minor movie roles. Currently he is staring in many advertisement campaigns.
Early Life
Lee Min Ho (이민호 ) was born on June 22 1987 in Seoul, South Korea. As a child, his family often called him "sudden blink" due to his large eyes. He has a good relationship with his only sister. When he was young, Min Ho was very timid however became more extrovert during middle school. In high school, he was extremely popular among guy and girl friends which even led his sister to call him "yun kyung’s ‘pretty boy’ brother". He often achieved "A" in his sports lessons and above 90 marks in mathematics. The thought of acting never crossed his mind even though he was constantly approached by star scouts. Soon, the number of such occurences increased and he started to meet with agents and go on auditions. It was then he decided to build a career in acting.
Career
He began his career by acting in various TV shows, short dramas and minor movie roles. His first acting debut was in 2005, in MBC's Love Hymn drama, appearing as a small character. His first lead role came in 2007, starring as Cha Gong Chan in SBS"s Mackerel Run, an 8-part high-school drama.
In 2009, his big break came when he was cast the lead role in Korean's adaptation of the popular Japanese manga series, Hana Yori Dango. He was to play the hot-headed leader of F4, Gu Jun Pyo, whom is the heir to the Shinwa Group. The drama's popularity soared and had high audience ratings, peaking at 34.9 million in Korea alone. His acting was watched worldwide and his popularity tripled. He even won the award for "Best new actor" in The 45th Baeksang Arts Awards.
