Lost Odyssey is the story of Kaim Argonar, a wandering swordsman who has not only lost his memory but his reason for living. It would be a simple thing then to seek death on the battlefield to bring an end to his own lost life, save for one problem. He can not die.
Trapped in a life he can not escape Kaim finds himself fighting in a desperate war on the side of the Republic of Uhra, a nation that is seeing unprecedented expansion as the result of a technological revolution merging science and magic. It is during the climatic battle with the enemy Kingdom of Gohtza that Kaim sees the fruit of this revolution. A massive meteor falling from the sky that brings death to everyone on the battlefield, save himself.
What follows becomes a journey of discovery. Where Kaim will not only regain his memory, but by doing so also remember what he has truly lost. The only things that is certain for him in his travels is that once he regains the truth of the lost odysseys of his past he will have to blaze a new path to save his future.
Lost Odyssey's story is penned by the award winning Japanese novelist, Kiyoshi Shigematsu who worked directly with the game's producer Hironobu Sakaguchi on the story sequences. Heading up the artistic demands of the title is famed Japanese comic artist, Takehiko Inoue, while famed composer Nobuo Uematsu creates a more contemporary soundtrack. Mistwalker developed the title with cooperation from studio Feel Plus, a subsidiary of Microsoft. The game shipped on 4 Dual Layer DVDs, making this the largest Xbox 360 game to date.
