I failed to note the 'tragedy' tag before I started watching this drama. I thought only "Ariel Lin and Mike He! They're some of my favorites!"
I literally knew almost nothing of the show before I began.

Once the tragic element came out in the story, I began to regret watching it a little. I wondered what else would happen. Would each episode make me cry? Luckily, the writers managed to incorporate a realistic healing into the episode's following tragedy. The coping was believable and as the characters overcame their feelings, so did the viewer.

Aside from the tragic element, I have this to say:
Each person in the cast acted their parts brilliantly. Relationships, reactions, etc were well played.
Clever filming of the plot made the story move at a pleasant pace. They never packed too much into an episode or devoted undue screentime to trivial elements. I do have a slight problem with the plot, though.

Music was well used in this drama. The songs were catchy and fit the scenes. Better yet, they knew when to not use music.

Furthermore, this drama is a perfect chance to learn some Mandarin.
Check it out, especially if you're already a fan of any of the actors or actresses in the drama.
Unless you're not willing to cry. But please remember that the issues are dealt with in a way that you should recover before too long.

Can a love contract still last if there is no love?

Of course not! I'm taking the theme a bit here for my review, I adored it very much. This drama was so beautiful. I mean one of the most beautiful works I've ever seen. It surpasses all with it's deep theories and comedic relief. I can really relate to Xiao Feng, she and I are so alike personality-wise. That's probably why the end had such an impact on me emotionally. I always find myself thinking about how real these series can be, when there are such captivating actors like Ariel Lin and Mike He.
*Attention Potential Spoiler* The ending is extremely sad though. It makes Sia want to cry. I can't believe that it really bounced back from being so gut-wrenching to a fable. Although I do like the thought that after death they lived their perfect love the way it should have been.. *Potential Spoiler Ova*
I can't do this series enough justice, but I can say that I was amazed/delighted with this drama so many times. It's great food for thought if you like to think allot, like Mu Tou. =3
(Someone should get a big stamp that says TRAGEDY and stamp it on this page... I just noticed that in the tags it says tragedy. Well thanks for the heads up, I look like a raccoon now and my heart hurts... =_=)

Love Contract: Best TwDrama I've Seen

Overall: It was beautiful. Granted there was alot of sadness, but what is more important is how much Xiao Feng and Ah Ken love each other. They are a couple that were completely and totally in love. Not the fake, cute love that a lot of taiwanese dramas have, but the kind of love that brings tears to your eyes.
Storyline: On the outside, Xiao Feng (Ariel Lin) is a stubborn tomboy and the captain of the Kendo Club at her college, the leader of her group of friends. But what her friends didn't see was a girl scarred by her past and searching for her future love. Her friends, Ah Kai, Xiao Bai, Mu Tou, Xin Lei, and, Xiao Xiao are all loyal friends to Xiao Feng; until Xiao Bai and Ah Kai leave the Kendo Club for the Swim Team (which is run by the male lead Ah Ken played by Mike He). It turns out Ah Ken is a grueling captain and they soon regret their descision. One night Xiao Feng reveals to her friends that what she wants more than anything is love. The storyline is unique and touching and keeps the audience interested.
Music: Perfect for this drama.
Characters: Ah Ken and Xiao Feng are so well developed and viewers can really identify with them.
Acting: Ariel Lin and Mike He shine in this drama. It's some of the best acting I've ever seen.
