Overview
Lupin III Part II (also known as Shin Lupin III or simply as Lupin III for the american market) is the second anime in the Lupin III series. It ran in Japan during 1977-1980 for 155 episodes, based on Monkey Punch's manga. Starting in 2003, Pioneer Entertainment licensed this show and released it over a span of 15 DVDs. Also of note is that Pioneer/Geneon never finished the show, stopping at episode 79. The English dub was produced by Fuse (now Phuuz) Entertainment. According to Richard Epcar, the voice of Jigen in the English dub, they had dubbed up to episode 120, but a Pioneer/Geneon spokesman denied this.[citation needed] Due to the current status of Pioneer/Geneon and the fact that Lupin III didn't sell that well, the DVDs and CDs are now discontinued and a Pioneer/Geneon spokesman states that Lupin III is out of business.[citation needed]
