This is an article for the discussion of the character "Mokania Fluru" from the anime "Book of Bantorra". He plays a rather minor role in the series overall but is the focus of a short segment that lasts for a handful of episodes. His magical rites give him the power to control ants in huge swarms and he can do so from a distance as well. He is regarded as one of the most powerful Armed Librarians and is feared for the reputation he earned when he single handedly destroyed an entire army.
[Edit]
Mokkania Fleur is a first-class Armed Librarian, directly below Hamyuts Meseta (the Acting Director). He has the ability to control insects such as red ants to consume anything in his path. He is known to be equally strong as Hamyuts Meseta, and is the only one who is. When he was younger, he was prophesized to, one day, bring doom to the Bantorra Library. A member of the Shindeki Church, Winkeny, was told that he would be Mokkania's adversary. Since that day Winkeny had vowed to go against Mokkania.
Mokkania, during his childhood, lived in a small cottage with his mother, Renas Fleur, in the countryside. He stated that whenever he needed security, his mother was the only one he could run to. One day, they ran into a trail of ants crawling in a straight line across the road. While they were watching the ants, Renas made Mokkania promise not to bring harm to anyone he encountered. Mokkania, of course, did. However, when Renas was killed, Mokkania turned from his vow and sought to seek revenge. In result, many years later, he destroyed an army on his own. Unknowingly he had invoked a certain form of hatred within the survivors, including Arkit, who had lost their friends and families to him.
Meanwhile, Winkeny had tracked down Mokkania's childhood home and explored the village in which he lived. He begins to realize that he had sympathy for Mokkania all along but does not accept it. When he meets his own mother in the inn she had worked in for years, she does not recall him, even though he states he is who he is. It is then when he realizes how it had felt losing a mother. Thus Winkeny created an imitation of Renas with the body of Olivia Litlet, who was identical to her. The imitation then approaches Mokkania.
Mokkania, although he knows that Olivia is not his own mother, wishes for her to stay by his side due to his missing a motherly figure. The fake Renas then tries to alleviate him by bringing him into a child's room and tells a story with her stuffed puppets. Mokkania, however, could not stand this because he still felt doubtful about the current situation; in other words, he could not believe that he was reunited with a mother. Although in hiding, Hamyuts Meseta finds them and Mokkania goes on to fight her, telling the fake Renas to escape beforehand. Mokkania, while remembering his sinful past, continues to battle Hamyuts but then manages to crush her with raining ants. He, believing that Hamyuts was finished, goes back to the fake Renas and tells her that he had known all along that she was not actually Renas physically. She understands and tells him that he should not have murdered anyone. When Hamyuts frees herself from the pile of ants, Mokkania runs down again and faces her in a calmer manner. Meanwhile Renas trips on a book and is unable to escape due to not being able to find her cane.
Mokkania surrenders and tells Hamyuts to tell everyone he is sorry. Not being able to forgive himself for his sins, he commits suicide by letting his ants consume him. Hamyuts calls him a "dumb child," most likely due to the fact that she thought he was annoying in a sense that he was always depressed over his own actions (aka not brave; wimpy; Cowardly). Then Winkeny comes up behind her and admits to himself that he was trying to help Mokkania all along. Hamyuts then lights a match and hurls it at him, killing him. She also calls him a "dumb child." Afterwards the ant trail flashback scene with Renas and young Mokkania is displayed, ending Mokkania's story.
