Nanaka has one of the saddest histories I have seen in a show.

When I saw her real story unfold in the series it was a huge shock and brought me a really touching emotion. Nanaka is one of those character that may seem like you will never understand her and why she is the way she is until you really see what she has been through, and how she still is dealing with it. I am glad to see that she made it through the series recovered, though she will live with the memory scars that can never be forgotten.
