Nightmare

Nightmare is a band that I seem to like more and more each time I listen to them. Their music is edgy, catchy and sometimes just plain strange and fun. Some songs are just heavy and dark and others are very melodic and sometimes almost haunting. Each CD has it's own feel and I love them all equally. For example the WORLD Ruler goes from the punchy "Boys Be Suspicious" to the light and gorgeous "~lulu~."Killer Show goes from the heavy bass and crunchy guitars of "Pandora" to the jazz inspired "the Last Show" to the lighter more haunting guitars of intro for "Yasou Kyoku." The newest album Majestical Parade goes from the raw hard march inspired "Parade" to melodic and catchy "Melody" to musically upbeat yet lyrically sad "Lost in Blue."

Their music seems to draw influence from many different genres to create their own driving sound. Yomi's vibrato to Sakito's high octave guitar solos to Hitsugi's crunchy guitar and growling to Ni-ya's heavy and melodic bass lines and finally to Ruka's fast paced and creative drum beats makes for a wonderful sound. I hope that they continue to make music for many many more years.
