Through a digestive storyline, the series develop easily but never runs completely out of context or gets boring. For those who enjoy classical music or music theory, is essential. For those who enjoy romance, highly recommended. As the seasons come, the characters show themselves deep and real. Informative and touching! Really a remarkable piece of work.

Nodame Cantabile is a wonderful romantic/musical anime once you get passed the josei demographic (if you feel unsure about that). This anime is about a proud and strict son of a famous pianist who takes an interest at a certain girl, the female protagonist. They both go to the same music academy, yet she is in the lowest class. The male protagonist, Chiaki, is about to be kicked out of the highest class after refusing to follow the way his teacher tells him to play. He can tell who plays originally, and who can't. Chiaki plays both violin and piano, but prefers conducting. After getting kicked out of the best class with the supposedly "best teacher", Chiaki is assigned a different teacher. While finding his way to the music room, he hears the female protagonist play, and he is touched. Her teacher is the same teacher that Chiaki now has. This teacher is also supposedly the "worst teacher" in the school.
With a lot on his mind, Chiaki gets drunk that night and ends up at the female protagonist's front door. The female protagonist, Megumi, decides to drag him into her filthy apartment room. Chiaki wakes up to Megumi playing the piano. When he comes to his senses, he is shocked at the trash surrounding every inch of the room. All he can think about is cleaning it up, even scolding Megumi. It seems that Megumi and Chiaki are neighbors in the same apartment building. Before he knows it, Chiaki ends up helping Megumi improve her piano playing skills, and Megumi helps Chiaki understand not everything is perfect. They both work towards their dreams--Chiaki to be a conductor some day, and Megumi who wants to always be by his side.

Nodame Cantabile is a perfect blend of music, love, friendship and comedy. It follows the lives of several energetic youthful 20-something men and women working toward fulfilling their dreams and aspirations. The music highlights the feel of the story and perfectly suits each character. There's plenty of touching and funny laugh-out-loud moments peppered throughout the series. Chiaki and Nodame will definitely make you want to keep watching until the very last minute.

I adore this anime! At first, I did not want to watch it because it was a little incovenient for me to watch japanese audio with subtitles. But after watching it, I simply loved it! It is a light romantic comedy of a messy pianist, Megumi Noda or Nodame, living in the same appartment as a handsome yet arrogant music prodigy, Shinichi Chiaki, and her one-sided love for him. The story takes a much deeper turn when Nodame gets tired of being ordered around concerning music and finally returns to her hometown for good. This is the moment when Chiaki realizes his feelings for Nodame. If you like light romance with bits of comedy and a whole lot of classical music then this anime is for you! Highly recommended!

Story: At a top music academy in Japan, Shinichi Chiaki's arrogance is matched only by his top-notch piano playing. But when Chiaki and the teacher get into a fight, he's demoted to the reject class. Chiaki is left to pursue his dream of being a composer while surrounded by a bunch of loser musicians and one annoying girl, Noda, who has proclaimed herself Chiaki's girlfriend. It doesn't help that Noda, who insists on being called Nodame, lives right next door to him. The story is quite a fast pace and full of humor. Do not judge from the theme.
Character: As far as I could say, this is the first Tsundere Male character than I have ever seen. Also, Nodame is really special as a girl... The character development is rather amusing and very enjoyable. That's the main forte of this show.
Animation: Animation rather unique, very fitting for the lack of action scenes.
Music: The sounds are great, as is to be expected in an anime about classical music. The full orchestra pieces sound fantastic and the sound effect are composed of gag effect. The character voices are also well picked and never get annoying. As expected from Veteran lead voice actor.

Nodame Cantabile is a really good anime. I first encountered it in TV. Since i was so excited to watch it, i watch the whole thing in internet. I'm amazed at how good the anime is. When Nodame plays the piano and hits the keys in the piano, she's actually playing the right keys! Ain't that cool? Anyways, I love this anime! So great xD

What can I say about Nodame Cantabile that will give it justice? ABSOLUTELY NOTHING! You'll just have to see it for yourself! The story revolves around two characters (Chiaki and Nodame) who strive for their own goals in order to become amazing musicians. Although the story is more about the classical music, the love between Chiaki and Nodame is very sweet and touching. Even though it takes awhile to develop, progress is DEFINITELY there! This couple is VERY SIMILAR to Kotoko and Irie Naoki from ITAZURA NA KISS. So you can count on plenty of comedic moments that will have you gasping for air! This is an amazing anime that will have you wanting to listen to classical music everyday and develop a huge appreciation for that kind of music too. YOU ARE GOING TO LOVE THIS ANIME!

I'm watching this anime since my friend recommended it saying it's good. Well, I've watched the first 11 episodes, the characters are interesting really but the story pace is quite slow and dragging. It's like I'm on my seat and impatiently waiting for the story to move on. Well, I'm comparing it on how anime like, cooking master boy, bakki the grappler, slam dunk, ghost fighter etc.. these ones immediately gets your attention. It's like you don't notice that you are actually watching something, it is as if you're expriencing it. For Nodame Cantibile maybe the audience involvement is a little low on that.
