Focusing on the tragic story of Aya Kito, this drama shows lots of promise however poor acting from some characters don't it allow from doing so.

Aya Kito is an average your average 15 year old Japanese high school student, until she finds out that she has been diagnosed with Spinocerebellar Degeneration. During the the progression of the story, she begins to lose her everyday abilities such as walking or writing. It's sad but it's hard to care when it's not presented well and the acting becomes cliche. Meaning the characters can act but for a drama where it tries to go deep into your heart it doesn't succeed. But with the help of her friends and family she is able to progress her life as normal. She begins to write in a notebook about living with the disease. She does so for 10 years.

Overall great drama, poor presentation tho.

One Litre of Tears is some kind of drama. I know that this is a real story based of a diary, but to re-live it must be hard so I give points to the actors who were in this drama. If you want a tear-jerking drama, this is the drama you should watch.

Aya is your average high school student until something tragic happens to her that will make her suffer for the rest of her life. She basically can't do anything about it; but she doesn't give up. The drama revolves around her sickness and how she strives so hard.

Story: Exceptional! It's a story (based off a true story) of a young girl who has spinocerebellar degeneration and her courage to live on even through this cruel disease. It's inspirational and heart breaking. I cried every episode it was so moving.
Acting: Fantastic! Sawajiri Erika played Aya perfectly and I can't see anyone playing the role better. I had never really taken notice of Nishikido Ryo but this drama made me fall in love with him! He was great! The rest of the cast was great too (though Aya's father was a bit over the top, in a funny way).
Music: Perfect for this drama, and so sad... 3/9 was so touching.
Overall: MUST WATCH! especially if you like dramatic and heart-wrenching stories.

the saddest drama where it can make you cry crazily while watching...in this story, instead of Aya's illness and the way she try to overcome her illness, aya also found her true boyfriend,Asou-kun,who willing to stay by her side although she was sick.he made himself close with Aya after he found out Aya's illness, finally his feeling towards Aya turn to love and he still love Aya eventhough Aya was died Image unlike Kawamoto senpai who try to avoid Aya after he know about Aya's illness,he just ignore Aya after the accident and also feel ashame with Aya condition Image moral of the story is true love and don't easy to give up about something like Aya,she not easily give up with her life eventhough she know that she doesn't has any hope...n love between siblings,i like Ako's character in this story coz although she seems like a stubborn girl, she has the warm-heart which has made her as the greatest sister after she know about Aya's illness Image
