It is always great too see a simple series that doesn't try to have a great archetypal big plot. But that at least tries to tell a simple story.
Pitekanto is one of my favourite series so far. The comedy is universal, not vulgar, tasteful, and extremely funny. Not only that, the idea that the whole story is told visually makes it a plus for those that can't read or speak english among the Crunchyroll members. Not only that this means that the whole family can watch this series.
I love the use of the camera angles and the cell-shading. Everything is simple, including the character designs, but the results and the animation are excellent. Which is ironic because there are many anime with good and detailed character designs, but with a choppy timing and less credible movements.
A great job from DLE.
P.S: I wonder if what the narrator says at the end of each episode is necessary for even when you don't understand what he says, the series still works and you could easily remove the narrator from it. Nevertheless, it is one series that I will rewatch.
