Porno Graffitti is a Japanese two-member rock band from Innoshima. With his cousin at his side, Haruichi Shindo formed a band at high school. With the band named as 'No Score', Haruichi asked Akihito Okano and Masami Shiratama (Tama) to join his band. As the band name says, none of them could read a score.

When the band started off, Haruichi was the vocalist, but they eventually realised that Akihito sings better than Haruichi, so he gave the vocalist position to Akihito, and acquired the guitarist position. Haruichi's cousin dropped out to pursue his university studies. Somewhere along the line they decided to rename 'No Score' as 'Porno Graffitti', which was taken from American band Extreme's album title, 'Extreme II: Pornograffitti'. Bassist and composer Tama left the band in June 2004 to pursue a solo career, but it's reputed that he's still on good terms with remaining members of Porno Graffitti.

Porno Graffitti is probably best known for its 2003 song 'Melissa', used as the opening theme of the anime series 'Fullmetal Alchemist'.
