Power Rangers: Turbo (often abbreviated as PRT, and often simply called Turbo) is a television show based on the Japanese Super Sentai television series Gekisou Sentai Carranger. It is the fifth season of the Power Rangers series.
The series was launched with a theatrical movie Turbo: A Power Rangers Movie to transition the Power Rangers from Power Rangers: Zeo to Turbo. One of the issues of the new series was usage of the Caranger fight and Zord footage. Caranger spoofed the long-running Super Sentai formula and featured a lot of physical comedy and slapstick humor. The series progressed for 18 episodes before longtime Power Rangers staffer, Judd Lynn, was given the job as story editor/head writer. The name Turbo may refer to the Automobile-like Zords, although its Japanese counterpart was the second series to use automobile mecha, the first one being the 13th sentai series Kousoku Sentai Turboranger.
