Rahxephon's storyline follows a 17 year old teen; Ayato Kamina and the euphoric mecha the "Rahxephon". At its peak it takes the form of an angelic savior sent from the heavens to pierce through the evil that corrupted men. "Mu", they appear to be human like beings that consist of blue blood . Before the plot their was an incident between the humans and the mulians that resulted in Tokyo being completely engulfed by a barrier-like sphere that resembles Jupiter but what’s most astonishing is the appearance of itself looking trans-dimensional. All of Tokyo is under mulians control and aliased as Tokyo Jupiter. The mulians have hidden the truth from its citizens; who believed that beyond their borders is complete isolation. Rahxephons sole purpose is to bring harmony through the melody it brings. Which can be shown in the mecha itself and its movements. Their considered as “Dolems”. When a dolem is killed the one inhabiting it which can only be controlled by “Mulians” are killed as well. Mans greed can only be shown by the men that have displayed their selfishness, but we are also capable of doing incomprehensible great deeds, whether its through small steps or ones self sacrifice.
Rahxephon was aired around 2002 with critics scrutinizing that its a copy of “Evangelion“ ,it has the same ideas but with details that breaks away from that theory. If you’re a mecha fan, a drama type fan or an anime fan in general it will keep you in the edge of your seats. The story is incredibly detailed ,from the graphics to the storyline ;it leaves you wanting more. Every character is likable and has a story to tell, the art is fantastic which ups the awesomeness and the animation for battle sequences are great also. The music is wonderful and addictive.. A lot of fans will say that RahXephon is similar to Evangelion, in a way its similar but its a lot more of a joyful series than Evangelion, I mean it as Evangelion is like the black series while RahXephon is the white series. Overall the ideas and thought that was put into this took absoulute dedication and time.
