Overall the storyline is good mostly in part due to the manga storyline (since some of the anime is based on it). The Music was pretty good but not the most memorable for me. The characters were pretty good. The animation was quite good. The only real issues i have are that i could go without the high amounts of fanservice and i wish the anime would follow the manga more than it did. they didnt even really try that much at all.

This Anime in my opinion has very amazing music but has a bad show of its story as it just is all about fan fiction which if your either perverted or you just can't get anything you should watch this anime. Now I will admit the comedy is amazing as Tsukune Aono (Main Protagonist) is being liked by Moka Akashiya (Vampire), Yukari Sendo (Witch), Mizore Shirayuki (Snow Woman), and Kurumu Kurono (Succubus) with the exception of Ruby Tojo who is just there for more Fan Service. The characters are okay but they don't go into detail about there backgrounds at all except for Ruby who is the only character who's story gets told all the way through about her past and why she's messed up. This show is just a good way too get away from your daily life and laugh a little at all the romantic shinanigans that go on

"Side tracked from its original story and ended up being a half-baked series."
Before we begin, let me drill this into your mind. Fan service; Fan service; Fan service; Fan service; Fan service! That's the theme for this anime so don't start having high hopes for an amazing story or what not (at least nothing in comparison to the manga original). Rosario + Vampire, like many manga-to-anime adaptation series, made fans screamed with joy at first, but only to have their hopes and dreams shattered bit by bit as the anime progresses. It is true that the anime's story plot deviates from its origin, but it is also true that the artwork is astounding (the animation version of the characters look more attractive to me). So let us get into a deeper analysis of Rosario + Vampire.
Story:
The anime is considered pretty episodic (ie. standalone episodes) with a few exceptions near the end of the series. This goes parallel with its manga originals so it is nothing new to the readers. However, what is new is the extremely formulaic sequence in all episodes with an introduction to the "monster of the episode" (these monsters tend to get defeated and then become friends with the protagonists). Not only that, but the actual story coverage is also very minimal in the anime (only covered up to chapter 10 of the manga out of 40 chapters). But that is not to say it is all bad. In fact, certain portions of the story that were remade into anime were better planned (events flow smoother/made more logical sense) than the manga version. Overall, the story serve its purpose as an introduction to the Rosario + Vampire series.
Animation:
Consistent animation quality throughout, beautifully animated characters, plus smooth transition from scene to scene, what more can you ask for? Gonzo, while not exactly known for extremely high quality animation (at least not at the level of KyotoAnimation), does indeed proved itself a worthy opponent to other studios in the industry.
Sound:
OP and ED are both very enjoyable for me (I didn't skip them like I did for a lot of other anime). It should not be an annoyance to you either (I hope). As for seiyu, there are many talented and well known professionals to voice for our pretty girls (and boys). For instance, there is the cute Rie Kugimiya voicing for the "icy cold" Mizore, and Saeko Chiba voicing for the "very funny" Ruby.
I would like to bring the attention to Nana Mizuki who is the CV for our super hot/cute/pretty/gorgeous Moka and also the singer for the OP and ED of the series (and the singer for Capu2 as well). Nana is not only famous in the seiyu community, but is admired by all. She has an amazing ability to sing (even rivals those so-called "professional" singers) thanks to her powerful singing voice despite being a pretty tiny girl. She was also the winner of the “Best Musical Performance” award in the first Seiyu Awards. For those who have not yet experienced her excellent character voicing ability (and as a singer), I strongly suggest you give this series a try.
Character:
Aside from the fact that most character's hidden abilities were not included in the anime, the show did a pretty good job with the characters. Plenty of character developments and showing their inner feelings toward each other (especially near the end when certain secrets were discovered). In addition, the interaction between the many different types of monsters can be quite refreshing from the traditional harem-oriented anime.
Enjoyment + Final Thought:
Judging Rosario + Vampire solely as an anime, it has plenty of ups and downs. Judging it as an adaptation from a manga, it was pretty disappointing except for the animation and sound department. I recommend this to all people who have not yet read the manga (got some nice fan service), but for those who know the story already, you might want to skip this and move on.

I started reading this anime a year ago when Shonen Jump had a preview of it. Ever since then i have been in love with Rosario+vampire! It has an excellent story line, characters, and animation. If your looking for a amazing anime with a awesome storyline, this is the perfect anime out there (to me). I have read every book out there that has to deal with Rosario+Vampire. I believe i am Rosario+Vampire's biggest fan! Me and my girlfriend actaully cosplayed at anime convention this year as Tsukune and Moka. We started to make out, and to throw it into place she actaully started to bite my neck, i enjoyed soooooo much. Back to the actaul anime, its amazing, awesome, Crazy, and well there's to many words to use to describe it

Rosario+Vampire is an intresting anime. It all started with Aono Tsukune who accidentally studied in the Youkai Academy of ayashi's which really emphasizes the story, and one more thing about it is Tsukune is a mere human while his schoolmates are monsters. Akashiya Moka was also a great fact in this anime, she as the most beatiful ayashi in human form was a vampire who loves drinking Tsukune's blood, Kurumu Kurono who's a succubus which charms monsters had fallen for Tsukune and now a so called lover of Tsukune, Yukari Sendo, a witch, who wants to be with Moka and Tsukune, Mizore Shirayuki an ice girl who's Tsukune's stalker who declared herself as Tsukune's wife, Rubi-san also a witch had also fallen for Tsukune, Kokoa Shuzen Moka's little sister had a forbidden love for her onee-sama which was the inner Moka. All of these girls are always around Tsukune which was the funny part because more likely they are fighting for Tsukune's Love. That's the twist that until now can't be answered but most likely Tsukune will pick Moka because he just stayed in the Youkai Academy for Moka. Still watch or read it for you to know what the story was telling you! It's a nice story of an anime! I'll give it 5-star for over-all rating! ^^

While attending at college, someone brought in Rosario + Vampire. It looked interesting, so I decide to follow it through to the end. All that time I've seen this anime is something I'll never get back.
The story revolves around Tsukune, a young boy that is transferred to an academy that is apparently run by demons and monsters. He did not know this and neither did his parents, even though they were the ones who got him there in the first place. During his travel, he meets up with Moka, a girl that probably wears the most shortest skirt I've ever seen, because you see her underwear A LOT! Anyway, she happens to be a Class 9 monster, a vampire basically, which is like the trump card of all cards. She could beat up any kind of monster, which is sad considering the fact that her vampire form is not the least bit threatening, thanks to the overabundance of underwear shots. The two, then, proceed to go on misadventures and add more characters along the way, including a 9-year-old witch, a hussy succubus, and an emo ice demon. The rest is pretty much repetitive from then on, they meet a monster they will fight later, they fight it, add in moral dilemmas, Moka becomes Class 9 monster, defeats the monster, happy ending, repeat, for all of the episodes. Sure, there might be some episodes that are interconnected, but those are reserved for the end of the season.
The biggest shocker to me for a show like this is that it has a pretty good orchestral music going for it. Then again, I don't think it's suited for something like this. For instance, Moka's alter ego has a pretty eerie, yet really cool theme when she transforms, but once again, the underwear shots ruin the momentum. The songs for opening and ending I don't really find memorable.
The characters are not that interesting and they don't really change for that matter. Tsukune seems to be a whiny brat who doesn't really change his outlook and doesn't work himself out to become a lot more helpful. He may help once or twice, but most of it is just talking about moral issues and so forth. Moka and the girls are not given any kind of respect since they were short skirts and often times, you will see their panties and you would probably remember their color. Even the 9-year-old girl has a few underwear shots. That's just cruel. There aren't any villains that seem cool or as memorable and serve almost as comic foil for the heroes.
The overall animation is nice and the character design is pretty good, yet I have to mention the underwear shots. There is not a single episode where there isn't one. You'll see it so many times that it doesn't become funny anymore and to me personally, it disgusts me and never do I want to see it ever again. It feels like an insult rather than a joke.
Bottom line, it's not the worst, but it's not the best either. I know it plays out like a comedy, but most of the jokes are not funny and most of them are sex jokes. The hussy succubus's chest seems to get fondled around a lot and have physics that can only exist in men's imaginations. If you like this kind of stuff, then don't let me stop you. I do dare anyone to try a drinking game out of this show. Every time you see an underwear shot, drink up, but by the time the episode is over, you'll get a nasty hangover or die of alcohol poisoning.
