Overview
Sakaki (榊, Sakaki?), given name unknown, also known as Miss Sakaki (Sakaki-san), is a character from the anime and manga series Azumanga Daioh.

Her family name, Sakaki, is that of an evergreen tree of Japan (Cleyera japonica) considered sacred in Shinto, and which is often found on the grounds of shrines.

Sakaki is very tall and is a natural athlete. She is uncomfortable with her size and some of the other girls tease her about it. She is very quiet and shy but would like to be more invvolved with the group. She is really loves "cute" things --especially cats. Her best friend in the group is Chiyo. One of the regular gags is that Sakaki tries to pet cats and they usually bite her. She never seems to learn from her experience. She dreams that Chiyo's father is a big stuffed toy cat but seems to think its really true.
