Shuuji to Akira is just a temporary unit designed for the drama "nobuta wo produce" they released only one single, "Seishun Amigo", which was a big hit! The single sold over one million copies in four weeks, becoming the No. 1 best selling single on the Oricon Charts of 2005. Kamenashi Kazuya is a member of Kat-Tun which a J-pop groupis from Johnny & Associates(recording company). Yamashita Tomohisa is a member from NewS, a J-pop group also from Johnny's.

Shūji to Akira (修二と彰?, lit. Shūji and Akira) is a special temporary unit formed by Kazuya Kamenashi (from KAT-TUN)and Tomohisa Yamashita (from NEWS), under Johnny's Entertainment from fall 2005 to winter 2006. This unit was created to promote the duo's Japanese TV series, Nobuta wo Produce. Shūji and Akira are the names of the characters of Kamenashi and Yamashita respectively. Although the TV show has long finished on television, the duo are still asked from time to time to perform on TV specials.
Single
The unit's sole single, "Seishun AMĪGO" (青春アミーゴ?), was released on 2 November 2005 and debuted at #1 in the Oricon singles top 200 the following week. The single sold more than a million copies in less than 4 weeks and has spent 34 weeks on the chart. The single also topped the annual Oricon top 999 singles chart of 2005, making it the best selling single in Japan in 2005. The single remained on the charts until early 2006, and was also the third best-selling single of 2006. The song was also released as a single in Sweden on 21 June 2006 and entered the Swedish singles chart at #41 the following week.
