Upping the Ante for every other Robot Anime Maker

This is one of the best machine animes I've seen in a long time. It combines elements of science fiction and fantasy, giving it an enchanting feel that puts good animes into another level. And the combination isn't awkward or hard-put either. They combine seamlessly with each other, twining the ideas of angels and gigantic robots into a huge species war that reaches beyond the Earth.

I admit, the characters have their expected quirkiness, but it's the sort of quirk you'd find in a good space opera book rather than those cliched twilight movies with parts you could almost adopt yourself. If I were reading a book, it would be like saying you could skip fifty pages and still understand the story. Not a good trait at all.

Every episode is entirely surprising, and full of strange ideas that weirdly make sense. I still can't forget that "an empty stomach is different from a starving one". Dude, everyone knows an empty stomach makes a person study better, but they seriously incorporated that into a whole episode. The obviousness of it, and yet, the sheer gall to actually include that made me laugh and still come away greatly impressed.

All in all, this is one of the best animes I've ever seen.
