Sung Si Kyung is under Jellyfish Entertainment, and was educated at Sehwa High School and Korea University (sociology major). He also attended the Graduate School of Journalism and Mass Communication at Korea University. Between October 2005 and May 2008, Sung hosted a nightly radio program on MBC FM4U called "푸른밤, 그리고 성시경입니다 (Blue Night with Sung Si Kyung)".
On June 20, 2008, Sung Si Kyung received his enrollment notice from the Military Manpower Administration to report for mandatory military duty. On July 1, 2008, he joined the 102nd draft unit stationed at Chuncheon of Kangwon province. Following five weeks of basic military training, he is expected to enter active service in the forward unit of Kangwon district.
After that his first activity was attendance to go to Korea love Dokdoham concert. It is ceremony of National Foundation. When he was interviewed, he said "I was crying after receiving letters from my mother".
