The original members were Anna Makino, Nanako Takushi, Hisako Arakaki, Minako Ameku and Namie Amuro. They became Super Monkey's 4 when Anna left before their second single, but for their third single, Namie became the leader and they were joined by Rino Nakasone. In 1995, Hisako and Rino were replaced by Ritsuko Matsuda and Reina Miyauchi. Namie then left to pursue a solo career, and the remaining four members formed the JPOP group MAX .
