I'm not going to explain the story line, it's a review not a summary. Just a heads up :].

The Tower of Druaga - The Aegis of URUK- has a very interesting plot, which is unusual since it is an anime based on a video game. The anime itself is very short, only 12 episodes. However, the character development is great, you get a peak into all the main protagonists stories in the short time you're with them. The action is prevalent, many fight scenes with decent battles. I wouldn't go so far as to say the fight scenes are the reason to watch it, but the action is fair regardless. The music isn't memorable, but it doesn't bother the viewer .

Given the background, the anime seems like you're watching a video game because each character is based off of a cliche game character (clerics, protectors, fighters, bowmen). Gonzo did a fantastic job portraying this game into an anime that way, it makes use of every character giving them all a purpose.

Also, if you enjoy the Aegis of URUK then The Sword of URUK (the follow-up season to the anime) continues the story with the same love-able characters!

I would recommend this anime to anyone who enjoys emotional character bonds and anti-climactic endings with moderate fight scenes. I guarantee plenty of relieved smiles, frantic gasps, and tears of joy throughout the stories progression.

A nice little fanstasy anime for RPG nerds.

The story does a good job of pit the good vs. the evil. It leaves no question who they hero, and it provides charismatic enemies and supporting characters just like a good RPG. In top of that is has good comedy IMO. It can be somewhat ridiculous at times, but I kind of like that. But it is mostly about serious plot twists. i really loved the first episode (it may be my favorite) but the story really picks up and gets more serious afterwards. Then animation is just ok, IMO. It's not bad enough to make viewing unenjoyable, but it is not going to blow you away either. If you have time wating for another show to come out, I recommend watching this while you wait if you are into RPGlike stories.

Good but nothing special

Plot is shallow, I would prefer something more deep.
But situations and characters are quite funny. Some ecchiness. There is also funny but short gender bender situation.
And there is no ridiculousness which is common in lots of nowadays animes.
