A tomb worth raiding

Tomb Raider Legend revives a seemingly dying franchise and kickstarts a new myth. No longer is this Brit all bust and no brains, Legend brings the series back to it's roots with more tombs, better level design, and challenging puzzles.

Storyline: This is where Legend truly shines. The story is quite simple. Lara survives a plane crash though her mother dies. Years later, she finds a strange artifact that has a deep connection to her past. She searches for the other pieces to the artifact, soon finding it to be the famous sword of the King Arthur himself, Excalibur. I won't say much past that, but after having played through Legend several times already, the ending left me wanting more. The story was told very well, no complaints in this department.

Graphics: Depending on the console you play it on, the graphics are quite good. The 360 version looks so much better only because it is next gen. Xbox graphics look nice and the PS2 places third.

Audio/Music: Beautiful music. Apparently, a band was supposed to have played for this game, but that never happened. Nevertheless, the game menu music is very good. Some parts in the game are quiet and have no background music, others have the music blaring (like the motorcycle events). The voice acting for Lara is phenemonal, actually. Definitely worth some praise.

Overall, Legend is a very good game, albeit short. It truly brings back a franchise from the ashes and will make you fall in love all over agian.
