In real life, if we were talking about a serial killer out there going around killing people (even as far as mass-genocide) because of how desolate their own life was and them needing a reason to keep on living, would you honestly be able to say, "why not?" What about the serial killer's victims? What's to stop that killer from attacking your own family if you or them just so happen to be a part of the group of people that he's decided needs to be purged for his own peace of mind?

is he a fictional character

I really like your reasoning and i don't really find fault with it but i just think there is a little misunderstanding between us. I'm going to try to make short and to get to the heart of the matter...for me there are 2 things very dissimilar: the reality and the fiction. In the fiction i can show much tolerance while in reality i'm not in fact such a tolerant person. Of course i don't approve serial killer(hey, i'm not mad as a hatter!) but here whe are in a fiction where there are vampires and vampires hunters so when Zero(a vampire hunter) hate all the vampires and want to kill them all then i'm not shocked. I find well justified the fact that vampires hunters want to kill vampires! I don't try to make excuses for Zero and if it was another vampire hunter i'll surely think the same(after all vampires hunters are born in order to kill vampires, no?)

The problem isn't that Zero simply wants to kill all vampires, it's that now he can and that being a vampire himself, he would just be better off killing himself instead of playing Hitler. I am also more tolerant of things in fiction than in reality, but a mass murder is still a mass murder regardless of whatever realm it's in - just like a rape is still a rape. Vampire hunters want to kill vampires - that's totally fine, that's their purpose, their job (even though their ability only allows them to truly be on par with ex-human vampires); but if all vampire hunters could do what Zero could, if all vampire hunters were also vampires themselves, then the whole purpose is defeated since the hunter is doing the exact same thing he's persecuting and killing the vampires for. What makes Zero any different from the vampires he's killing? Nothing. Unlike his fellow hunters (and even certain vampires), he isn't going around killing vampires in order to protect others or doing it for revenge - he's doing it simply because he has nothing else to do. Moreover, hunters are supposed to be restricted to the job system of the Hunters Association - they get information on where Level Es are and are sent to put them down. That's the system set in place to keep everything regulated - to keep everything relatively peaceful. Now, with the Vampire Council eliminated and the Hunter Association President dead, the last year could have very well been one of pure chaos: vampires running amok, hunters hunting in groups to take them out, humans being aware of the whole thing, war already having started or imminent; but it would be sort of odd for Hino-sensei to just jump into a chaotic moment like that without any build up.

What Zero is planning to do is not just wrong to me, it's hypocritical and undermines the pacifist effort - it's nothing but self-centered, pointless chaos. His reasons for doing it are unjustified and simply pitiful, especially when comparing them to the possible repercussions his actions (if successful) could cause the rest of humanity. But again, this is how I would feel if he follows this path - if what we saw was just a classic 'badass' entrance, then there's absolutely nothing to worry about.

chapter 49 rocks,,,

i really love it especially the kiss.. kaname-sama and yuuki should protect themselves.. even if the vampire council were killed there are still others who wants them dead or capture them like that sara girl ( the other pureblood ) she even got Ichijou (who i thought was long dead) good thing i thought wrong :]

Pureblood Lovers!!!! GO GO GO!!!!:D

You're totally right! I Just can't imagine what Sara-sama want from my beloved Kaname. But relax! He has Yuuki by his side now! Nothing has stopped him in this ten years, and nothing will, now! Kaname is a predator, not a victim. Hower...all the fans will curse Sara-sama if she dares doing something to our Kaname or Ichijou!

Yah!! Curse you SARA.. hahahaha.. and nobody can stop kaname and yuuki...

VK manga... ... >.>

Chapter 49 - mostly about Yuuki and Kaname/kissing scene. Only at the very last page - Zero.

Oh well, lets see what chapter 50 is about. 40 pages... Hope that it won't turn out like crap.

When i was reading the last chapter of "La Corda D'Oro", my eyes were drawn by this pic:

I've right away thought that this girl look like Yuuki and plus she carries a baby in her arms. Maybe it's just my wild imagination but what do you think?

Finally ch.50 is out!!!
I'm relieved about Zero...he hasn't turn into a villain(he only hunts level-E vampires which are in the list!!!) and he's even able to smile,he has showed such a gentle side with that lost child!
However i feel sorry for him because even if he's able to take blood-tablets, it seems that he suffer very much from lack of blood(have you seen how much blood-tablets he has gulped down?)...He surely miss Yuuki's blood terribly!!!
Now about Yuuki...her state is somewhat frightening, it seems that she's still unable to accept the fact that she's a pureblood(she isn't even able to drink blood properly!) but yet i'm happy to see that her human side still exists...She still thinks at her bestfriend Yori(the proof is the letter) and it make me hope that maybe she hasn't forgotten Zero!
Concerning their looks: Kaname is hot as always but he hasn't changed though; Zero look a bit older(he shall have 18 now) and he's more and more sexy and concerning Yuuki she look like a little girl(it's hard to tell that she's around 17 now!)
Finally Matsuri Hino has had a brainwave in making Kaname the representative of the vampire race and Zero the head of the association because it's sure that Kaname and Zero will meet again and it's also highly conceivable that Zero will cross Yuuki's path!
However i doubt that Kaname and Zero get along some day, Zero doesn't trust Kaname at all and he has still this thought of "killing him"!

Alas in this chapter there are neither Sara nor Ichijou...i can't help thinking at what she has done to Ichijou during all this time, i hope that she hasn't tortured him night and day!

I just read the translations, and I loved Zero more and more. I liked this chapter because it had some information on the situation. In that meeting are going to happen interesting things I guess, hope it won't be very short and more details to be showed.

The chapter was brilliant, first of all when zero showed up, I was really happy when seeing him again...it has been more than 3 months not seeing him *realizes vk would not be any good with no zero in*
The first thing that takes my attention was the letter written by yuuki.i think yuuki wrote that letter to zero...And as I thought zero will not kill the purebloods as he claimed from previous chapters...because he is really a sweet person from the inside... i'm so proud of him that he is doing fine even when yuuki is not with him .i wouldn't thoght that he would be that strong though.
As for kaname this was the first time I felt sad for him ... because of yuuki not biting him or calling him senpai.. he was hoping that yuuki would fall for him but knows that yuuki have feelings for zero....*i doubt that kaname would have a happy future, because of what shizuka said from before*.
Shockingly, I realized that I don't really hate kaname and actually wish him good life with yuuki but i hated the idea of zero being bullied by kaname ...so as long zero feels happy the same way he was in this chapter. I would be really satisfied...
forgive me for my bad english ..kokoroo

i think yuuki wrote that letter to zero

For me it's almost obvious that Yuuki wrote to Zero:
the first page of ch.50 page began with this sentence "what are you thinking about rigth now?" and we can see a rose on the writting paper,

then we see that there is also a rose on the writting paper that Yuuki uses,

and Aidou says to Yuuki "you're still writting letters"...it means that actually there exists other letters,

finally in the last page we see Zero(lost in his thinking IMO!) while we also see this sentence again "what are you thinking about"

Actually, although she's with Kaname Yuuki still write letters to Zero on the sly...but i think that she hasn't posted them because it would be too dangerous for her to go out!

i think she was writing letters with no intent to send them to zero... cause it would hurt kaname's feeling ...
one question arises...do u think that writing to zero would mean falling in love with him*hopes so* or is she just missing him??*yuuki will make my head explode one day*
further more , why do think kaname told yuuki about the meeting with the hunters? *all of us know that kaname is that type of person who never tell a thing with out a good reason behind it* i think he is testing yuuki's loyalty for him ..

Actually i don't think that she's falling in love with Zero but i rather think that she has always been in love with Zero! It's just that she don't want to accept that or she don't want to realize that because it would terribly hurt Kaname. Plus Yuuki think that she isn't good enough for Zero now that she's a pureblood(she herself tells that in ch.48) and maybe she is afraid that Zero could reject her. Now i think that she can't help thinking to Zero the proof are the letters and also the bracelet that she's still wearing!

It's obvious that she miss Zero very much and yeah it gives me more hopes to see a Zeki end but whatever i have never lost hope in Zeki!!!

I don't think that Kaname try to test Yuuki's loyalty, i think that he just want to be honest with her and he doesn't want to hide thing from Yuuki anymore(like he did before with Shizuka's death or Yuuki's past!) And Kaname isn't naive, he shall suspect that Yuuki has strong feelings for Zero.

but the meeting is supposed to be a buisness matter that yuuki have nothing to do with ... yet he told her ... maybe your right that he wasn't testing her or any thing -_-

Somehow i have a feeling that yuki is going to end up with zero (or she will confess to him? (at the very end)
because
- i don´t think that the manga is going to continue like that(yuki and kaname are living happilie together? (altough i can´t see anything like that? ) and zero is going to haunt vampires for his whole live `???)
-matsuri hino didn´t show us "the other side of yuki´s feelings" for nothing
-kaname knows that yuki has still feelings for zero (and if she really write the letters to zero, that means that she couldn´t forget him after all )
- and isn´t that girl ? (who tortured ichijo???) chasing after kaname? i´m sorry if i get it wrong )

and the manga is also called " a forbidden love" maybe it could symbolize a love between a vampire hunter (zero) and a pureblood(yuki)??? (but thats just my theory )
(and i´m sorry for my bad english )

Ahhhhhhhh... YUKI IS JUST CONFUSING ME MORE AND MORE!!!!! SHE SHOULD SAY WHAT SHE IS FEELING AND NOT HIDE IT TILL THE END!!!!!!!!!

this chapter was great! i loved every moment of it! especially the zero parts! he looks so cool! but i felt really sad that he's living all by himself! however, my fav part was when yuuki was thinking about zero! although its not stated in the chapter, it's pretty obvious! THAT WAS REALLY SWEET!!
