Entertaining and very well thought out.
I'll be brief. Log Horizon is solid. It's got fluid animation, a solid game-like soundtrack, a reasonably intelligent story, an awesome setting, and cool characters.

    Some other good points:
    1) No fanservice. None.
    2) Doesn't take itself too seriously but can easily be taken seriously by the audience.
    3) The MC is a mage! And he has a personality!
    4) It doesn't always focus on the ...

The anime I wanted from SAO
First off, this anime is NOTHING LIKE SAO, other than the fact that they are stuck in an MMORPG. Despite that, SAO was the main reason why I tried Log Horizon out in the first place, so that's what I'll be comparing it to.
Being a MMORPG player and a person who likes to excessively ponder in my free time, I was very intrigued by the premise of SAO and dove straight into it, expecting some ...

    SAO? not really.....
Honestly, saying this show is like SAO is like saying Mario Kart is like Gran Turismo because they both have vehicles in it. Yes, the setting is pretty similar, a bunch of people are stuck in a RPG where they cant log off, but that is really where the commonality stops. This show is much more "shonen-ized" (i know that isnt a real word) and light-hearted than SAO, with the consequence of death in ...

    Great anime, very unique.
From the start I knew some people were going to complain about it because of their undying love for SAO and .hack. This anime is nothing like .hack and SAO except for the fact indeed they are stuck and it's a game where they are in it. The characters are dressed like their class, each character has it's own great personality, and they even have different races. If I was to say this was closely ...

    look, it's Log Horizon...
it isn't Sword Art Online or .hack. if you appreciate it for what it is, you'll have a better chance of enjoying it. it gives off a really 'fun' feel and maintains a bright and light hearted aesthetic without diluting the gravity of the dire situation that the characters are in. the feeling that i get from Log Horizon is akin to the feeling that i got from Monster Rancher when i was younger. i ...

  • It brought the nerd of me :D
Comparing it to SAO; you respawn when you die with minimal loss, there is no clear goal for the players to achieve, and npc's are the coolest!
Based off Season 1: This is a setup for a rather long story as the players who were locked in the world of a game try to figure out how to 'live' and how to organize themselves in to a cohesive society. The story is based off one player's experiences as he ...

  • Just like Sword Art Online
Except not written by twelve year olds. Fanservice and busty heroines drooling over the OP MC is replaced by politics and intrigue, with a weighty network of alliances being formed and evolving at the initiation of our own MC, who is only OP in his ability to think. And that is a skill one can realistically be born with. Animation isn't quite as sleek as other anime, but it holds up nicely in ...

    My Thoughts on Log Horizon
Originally, when I first took a look at Log Horizon, I was in the process of watching SAO. My original thought was that Log Horizon was going to be a rip off, but this was not the case at all. In fact, I found Log Horizon to have more story value than SAO (especially considering SAO's SAO portion seemed too short and shallow). Log Horizon's characters also seem to have more personality and are not ...

    Different and enjoyable.
Log Horizon is definitely one of my favorite anime. I find both the characters and the setting very easy to like.

I actually got interested in the anime after reading the (sometimes sloppy) fan translations of the novels. Even with the issues in those translations, it was more than enough to draw me in and make me a fan.

I think the anime is the same way, and it is a very good adaptation ...

    Review for Log Horizon
Highly recommend fans of MMORPG to watch this anime!
It portrays the aspect of MMO in terms of strategy, teamwork. It tries to leave Cliffhangers nearly almost every episodes!
Just a heads up : Players "trapped" in the new patch launched by the company, the 'game' became their reality, watch to see how they overcome difficulties as they tries to get out of the 'game'?
    -Character development ...
