Entertaining and very well thought out.
I'll be brief. Log Horizon is solid. It's got fluid animation, a solid game-like soundtrack, a reasonably intelligent story, an awesome setting, and cool characters.

    Some other good points:
    1) No fanservice. None.
    2) Doesn't take itself too seriously but can easily be taken seriously by the audience.
    3) The MC is a mage! And he has a personality!
    4) It doesn't always focus on the ...

The anime I wanted from SAO
First off, this anime is NOTHING LIKE SAO, other than the fact that they are stuck in an MMORPG. Despite that, SAO was the main reason why I tried Log Horizon out in the first place, so that's what I'll be comparing it to.
Being a MMORPG player and a person who likes to excessively ponder in my free time, I was very intrigued by the premise of SAO and dove straight into it, expecting some ...

    Great anime, very unique.
From the start I knew some people were going to complain about it because of their undying love for SAO and .hack. This anime is nothing like .hack and SAO except for the fact indeed they are stuck and it's a game where they are in it. The characters are dressed like their class, each character has it's own great personality, and they even have different races. If I was to say this was closely ...

    look, it's Log Horizon...
it isn't Sword Art Online or .hack. if you appreciate it for what it is, you'll have a better chance of enjoying it. it gives off a really 'fun' feel and maintains a bright and light hearted aesthetic without diluting the gravity of the dire situation that the characters are in. the feeling that i get from Log Horizon is akin to the feeling that i got from Monster Rancher when i was younger. i ...

  • All Around Fantastic
Log Horizon is an amazing series, with fantastic artwork and a very good plot line that really starts to shine after the initial setup is created. Many will find this series through its similarity in concept with Sword Art Online, a very popular series, also inside of a MMORPG World, and the concept that the players are stuck inside the world. That ends the similarities, however. This show ...

  • Suave, sure, and elegant
Ranks along with the greats of anime, taking a well known meme and running it like a ball through the goal posts of perfection. This series is a must watch for thinkers, and novice/veteran MMORPG gamers, though you harem anime fans might feel a twitch, too. I give it five stars and, thanks, Crunchyroll, for streaming it!

  • A Video Game Anime of it's Own
I've lost count of how many anime title's I've watched, and yet this is my very first written review of one.

When it comes to Log Horizon, people are likely going to think that it's just a Carbon Copy of .hack//Sign, or (mostly) Sword Art Online, and just pass up on it. Oh, sure all 3 have the "Stuck in a Massive Multi-Player Online Role Playing Game (MMORPG)" element, but ...

    Started strong....fizzled out.
The first 8 or so episodes were pretty great. I laughed a lot and was really interested in the story and setting. Then the show started getting into endless politics and technical discussion with almost no action or character development. A show about being in an MMO shouldn't be about politics and international relations. It's like, and I hate to compare to SAO since they're absolutely nothing ...

    What SAO could've been
Before I begin, Sword Art Online is not an original game anime. The .hack series came first.

Log Horizon begins with veteran players, and some newbies, of the game "Elder Tale," where just like most game animes, the players are stuck in the game. However they have no idea how to get out and rather than escaping, the characters begin developing a society due to much of the problems they face. ...

  • Is not a copy of SAO
This anime is its own, besides it being in the video game genre it is nothing like SAO. In this story the characters are actually in another world that seems to be exactly like the game they usually would be playing on the computer like any current MMORPG. It is really fantastic, it is a must see if you like video games ecpecially MMORPG's, it has a little bit of everything humor, romance, ...
