Entertaining and very well thought out.
I'll be brief. Log Horizon is solid. It's got fluid animation, a solid game-like soundtrack, a reasonably intelligent story, an awesome setting, and cool characters.

    Some other good points:
    1) No fanservice. None.
    2) Doesn't take itself too seriously but can easily be taken seriously by the audience.
    3) The MC is a mage! And he has a personality!
    4) It doesn't always focus on the ...

The anime I wanted from SAO
First off, this anime is NOTHING LIKE SAO, other than the fact that they are stuck in an MMORPG. Despite that, SAO was the main reason why I tried Log Horizon out in the first place, so that's what I'll be comparing it to.
Being a MMORPG player and a person who likes to excessively ponder in my free time, I was very intrigued by the premise of SAO and dove straight into it, expecting some ...

    SAO? not really.....
Honestly, saying this show is like SAO is like saying Mario Kart is like Gran Turismo because they both have vehicles in it. Yes, the setting is pretty similar, a bunch of people are stuck in a RPG where they cant log off, but that is really where the commonality stops. This show is much more "shonen-ized" (i know that isnt a real word) and light-hearted than SAO, with the consequence of death in ...

    Great anime, very unique.
From the start I knew some people were going to complain about it because of their undying love for SAO and .hack. This anime is nothing like .hack and SAO except for the fact indeed they are stuck and it's a game where they are in it. The characters are dressed like their class, each character has it's own great personality, and they even have different races. If I was to say this was closely ...

    look, it's Log Horizon...
it isn't Sword Art Online or .hack. if you appreciate it for what it is, you'll have a better chance of enjoying it. it gives off a really 'fun' feel and maintains a bright and light hearted aesthetic without diluting the gravity of the dire situation that the characters are in. the feeling that i get from Log Horizon is akin to the feeling that i got from Monster Rancher when i was younger. i ...

  • Good show, perfect for mmo veterans/gamers
Log Horizon has a mix of everything, including action, adventure, romance, politics, and much more. The main character, Shiroe, is something of a genius, comparable to Light Yagami from Death Note. I like that the makers of the series made the main character a support class and a strategist instead of some OP sword user or something (SAO). The setting and game world of Log Horizon is fully fleshed ...

  • An excellent edition to the genre
There are several shows that approach the subject of players trapped within a virtual world: .Hack and Sword Art Online some of the most notable. However, Log Horizon has a unique spin: the players seem to be fully within the game rather than mentally trapped with a physical body out in the real world. It presents challenges and solutions the other shows didn't have access to. I devoured the first ...

  • Love it as much as Sword Art Online 2!
Feels like a Alternate dimension of SAO Similar to Following a chain created from SAO's Seed project.

Completely Amazing! More Episodes please please!
I'll go buy more Log Horizon Loot so please take my money as support and fund those episodes!

    Woohoo!

    Fantastic Setting, Fair Story
As of this post, the show is on season 2, episode 11.

The plot itself is great in theory, but mostly just mediocre in execution. I feel they could have done a better job pulling the viewer in some sensitive scenes. Also, I don't really like how some characters just drop off the face of the earth for convenience-sake. On the other hand, I think the team did a wonderful job at making the setting ...

  • Don't compare to SAO
This will be review abridged because my full opinion will be like a 5 page long essay.

This is an almost all around it is a great anime easily one of my top 10, just don't go into it with the wrong expectations and go thinking of it as another SAO or .hack// it takes a completely different approach as they try to live in this world. They don't try to escape because they don't know if there is ...
