  • It's Magically Hilarious
This series is weird. Very weird. And that's why I love it.
This is among several other anime shorts that occur every season, but this one is by far my favorite. Despite the episodes only being 3 minutes and 30 seconds in length, each episode has its own wacky plotline within that time frame, and each one is hilarious. I definitely recommend checking this one out.

  • Nonsense done perfect
This show makes no damn sense what so ever and it's awesome! Every episode had me laughing and I'm sad it's over. I want more! I found myself rewatching episodes just to laugh again (which I hardly do). Someone told me they would not watch it because it's a "magical girl" and there is nothing magical about it. Just crazy stuff happening every episode.

  • Light-hearted, unpredictable, and fun!
Not much to say really. It's a fun show without too much plot to follow. The drawing style is kept fairly loose so they won't be winning any art awards, but it's all in good fun. The voice actors are probably the best part. They really bring out the comedy in these short episodes.

Overall, just go with the flow and enjoy a cute, zany adventure with a goofy cast.

  • Not for everyone, but...
I thought the first ep was hilarious and come back every week for a good chuckle. Someone defined comedy as the 'subverting of expectations', and Somera's approach takes this to very high levels (but nothing too ridiculous, ala Eric Andre). This approach is much less common in Japanese media than American, but if you can appreciate weirdness and are in the mood for something other than slap-stick ...

Can see why people like it but...
This is just not for me. I tend to find lots of stupid anime funny but somehow Magical Somera-chan didn't work for me. I'm not much on blood and wounds for humor purposes, so that might have been part of it. But mostly I think it was the lack of anything tying...well, anything together. Too many other shows to watch.

Will peek in on episode 2 to make sure but this is probably a drop.

Magic Fists, Deadly Llamas, and Dog-Cat-Food...thing
If the first 10 seconds of this show were any indication of what is to come, then weird shit is going to happen. Magic Fists that appear to do anything and everything, two sisters living together because their parents died (bummer), and animals with a taste for human flesh.

All in all this looks like another weird, short, 3-minute series designed to both entertain and confuse the viewers.
