Very Good Anime (Granny by style)
I was compelled to write a review of this masterfully done anime.
I don't know what issues Blupixie-san may have who wrote the last review but the style of the anime is "Grainny" on purpose.

The story is about a professional Shogi player whos battling depression and inner demons, the full plot is not yet been flushed out but the anime is a "Oh God the Feels" type of anime.

    Enjoy

    Artistically brilliant
This anime is about dealing with the depression of loss. The protagonist is contrasted against a beautifully crafted atmosphere, illustrating what it is to feel alone in public, or numb to what's around you, no matter how beautiful it might be. To go through the motions of life without really feeling alive. It's also not only focused on the protagonist, and shows the efforts of those around him to ...

In like a lion, and out with a tissue box
So, these are just my first impressions of the show's first episode, without having read any of the manga.

It's superb. Everything feels integrated extremely well. The animation is fluid and well thought out, I'm really only seeing a problem with how some of the textures on moving characters and objects are integrated, and a few of the CG things. (Vehicles, mainly.) The backgrounds and effects ...

Enter the world of Rei Kiriyama.
A anime not for the faint of heart, March comes in like a lion is a beautiful anime that tells the story of how some fight against their own emotions. Winning is not always without consequence. Loneliness even when surrounded by others. This is the life of Rei.

Although the anime starts off a bit slow by building the setting and characters, the anime does this really well and makes it ...

    Ridiculously Endearing
This show might not be for everyone, its very slow moving. But honestly these are some of the best characters I have met watching anime.

This show moves from light hearted to dark in a way that feels very real and human. Although the show is about Shogi, that is really not the central theme of this show. Loss and how one deals with loss is its central theme, and you get to watch its main ...

    Absolutely beautiful
I was compelled to write a review about this anime in particular. I have seen, and really enjoyed many many different series of anime, but none of them have quite grabbed my heart in the way that this one has. Both the art style and the depths of the characters is alluring and keeps me always coming back for more. I'm curious as to where the story will lead and where our lonely Rei will find ...

    An introspective slice of life!
This is an introspective anime with some light hearted moments strewn in to ease the overarching theme of loss and depression. It circles around Shogi, or a more complicated form of chess in Japan, that the main character plays professionally even though he's still of high school age. He has suffered family loss and internal strife that is slowly being revealed through each episode along with ...

The Anime is like the Manga...
...at its core, this is a tragic coming-of-age story wrapped in a heart-warming comedy. I'm really happy to see that the anime has the feels spot on from the manga. The opening music and character voices really go together, and the setting for everything is perfect. Overall this is the reason I love anime.
