We have both Tales of Eternia and Tales of Destiny 2 in Japan, but in NA there's just Tales of Destiny II which is Tales of Eternia renamed.

The naming choice later caused some confusion after the release of the PS 2 game known as Tales of Destiny 2, a genuine sequel to Tales of Destiny. So don't think that the jap Tales of Destiny 2 = Tales of Eternia in NA.

The name was changed from Tales of Eternia to Tales of Destiny II in NA because of some trademark isues. Tof E is not directly related to T of D, except for a few brief character cameos that are typical of many Tales games.
