The ps1 version was name tales of destiny 2 but wasn't a sequel. This is a new game and the sequel to the first one.

Rid and all those other guys are in Tales of Eternia. In Eternia's US version, however, there were some stupid copyright issues about the title, so they named it Tales of Destiny 2, instead. This is Tales of Destiny II, the true sequel to Tales of Destiny
