Well, actually you can slice your opponents in half in the original game. They just pushed the bar a little further.

No offence but I was hoping for 3d graphics but with 2d gameplay. Oh well this'll be good anyway (looks like they borrwed the "Fatality" feature from MK).

This is an arcade game I'm sure if it'll ever be ported and if it is you'll probably have to import it seeing as how SS games don't have as huge a fan base here in the US as they do in JPN and other countries.
