the forsaken led by sylvanas are once member of the burning legion but they broke when archimonde was defeated in hyjal..they were once blood elves and now is with the sentinels to avenge there fate..

*Spoiler* Sylvanas had nothing to do with that attack against the Horde and Alliance. It was the Royal Apothecary Society lead by Varimathras. As the Alliance you kill the guy who taunted Arthas and as the Horde you kill Varimathras
