Thats why its such a great anime... Its good vs. evil on the surface but it is really more complicated than that... more like light grey vs dark grey.

I don't think there is a single person in this anime who has truly just motives besides Euphemia and Nunnally... Lelouch is arrogant and self-absorbed, Suzaku is naive, and the rest of the black nights are just a bunch of terrorists.
