    Freaking Shaft does it again...
    Well.

Just one episode has been released, and I don't know anything about the complete story, so as to whether this breaks down later or not is immaterial to me, but if you even for a second were intrigued by Shaft's other major production in the Monogatari series, this will rivet you to your seat.

The dialogue is charming and deep, with the same ADHD camera movement seen in Monogatari, but ...

My Opinion so far on Mekakucity Actors
Before the anime there was the manga and the songs on mekakucity actors.
It's a unique anime in my opinion. The art so far seen is very similar to the manga , I haven't finished the manga but I know where story is about to go. The characters are entertaining. Each person has their own story . From what I heard from the manga some of the characters have powers or talents? The first episode related ...

  • Puzzling yet Intriguing
At first this anime just seems very run-of-the-mill, but once you get a few episodes in, you'll find yourself wound up. While it doesn't make much sense at first, this anime keeps you guessing and doesn't answer any questions until the very end. The only downside I can think of is that it's quite heavy on the flashbacks.

  • Sometimes great, sometimes confusing, rushed ending
I want to qualify this review by saying that there are episodes of Mekakucity Actors that are those of a 5 star show. Since spoilers abound in just describing this short series, I'm going to just say that even though it has the premise of a group of superhuman teenagers and young people, this is actually a fairytale.

The art is very interesting, it's probably what I liked the most about this ...

  • Awesome. Just, awesome.
This is a great anime. I've seen many things about this before (as in songs) and they were perfect. This is an awesome anime and people should totally watch it and listen to the songs. The story line is confusing though,
    Though confusing ...

Very similar to the "Monogatari" series.
This anime, as the title of this review suggest. Is very similar to the monogatari series. In almost every aspect by far. Meaning if comes with the ups and downs of monogatari. Plot holes, hard to follow, enjoyable characters (i believe anyways), the unique way that it's animated. Etc. Now as much as I resent saying this, I don't mean to compare this to monogatari and souly monogatari, but I'm ...

Anime Equivalent of "Lost" Except Not As Good
This show is more designed to keep you watching than to tell a compelling story. It's riddled with plot holes and cliffhangers. In the end, I felt no attachment to any character. I realize there were plenty of characters, which makes that difficult. However, I will counter this argument with the fact that Summer Wars had even MORE characters, made its audience feel for EACH of them as well as ...

Beautiful... but a little too complicated....
What kept me watching Mekakucity Actors was the beautiful animation and the superb art direction. I loved the characters and their relationships with each other.

    That being said...

I found myself having a hard time keeping up with the plot and every time I thought I understood, the next episode would just confuse me again (Though, maybe I just didn't get it). I loved the first few episodes ...

    More Style than Substance
Mekakucity Actors begins as a very personal tale of grief and loss, keeping a slow, but affecting pace. Or, at least, that's what I thought until I completed the final two episodes, in which I realized the show spent the majority of its run spinning its tires, and frantically struggled to complete an incredibly silly and convoluted plotline in the last moments, abandoning the methodical pace and ...

  • A Good Show, But Your Mileage May Vary
Now, I'm a fan of the franchise, so I knew the general direction this show was going, but was aware that the creator intended to change things around. I felt that the show was pleasantly atmospheric, and as a rule, I love shows with complex plots. But the way that the ending was rushed left me feeling somewhat disappointed. I do appreciate that the show doesn't end with a cliffhanger like so ...
