The only way to prevent Tallgeese from straining its pilot would be inertial dampeners and apparently that tech doesn't exist in Wing. The pilot's stress is coming from the g-forces Tallgeese pulls when accelerating and banking.

Catherine should've got in there and started making out with him (with like all teary eyes) instead of just punching him. "Don't ever leave me behind Trowa!" That would've been better.
