    A Confusing Adaptation
Being a long-time fan of the Monster Hunter video game series, I've come to expect great things from the series.

However, calling this a Monster Hunter anime just isn't something I'm capable of doing at all. The target audience is a very narrow age group when the video games interested a much broader audience and the whole thing suffers from a death of exposition instead of getting me hooked ...

    Cringe-worthy children's show that I wouldn't show my kids
This review contains spoilers, but the whole thing is so bad it doesn't even matter

All I need to see is this first episode to realize that Capcom did an amazing job on delivering what we all expected, a major letdown. Its extremely obvious target audience of children speaks volumes of Capcoms views on their fanbase for the series. Not to mention the first quest (episode) is an egg gathering ...

    Umm yeah what the heck
Alright, yes this is clearly for the spin-off of the series no one knows about

BUT, this is an insult to franchise. If this was my first impression of a Monster Hunter game, I'd never give the series a chance. This anime is about as well written as plesioth's hit boxes were made back in MH Freedom... (inside joke, they were an abomination)

Who knows, maybe they couldn't get the rights to ...

    A nice change of pace
As a fan of the whole monster hunter franchise I can say it's refreshing to have something different. This seems to be a more light hearted adaptation of the series aimed at possibly more of a younger audience and those who want a little more story to their monster hunter.

Overall it's fairly easy to swallow on those who don't watch a lot of anime and includes little details from the main ...

Very Good! Very Good for Kids! But Not What I Was Expecting...
It's not exactly what I was expecting, but it's still pretty neat-o to me! I was expecting something along the lines of a story mode or offline mode to be animated, but this is alright, too!

Actually, I kinda hate the cat. And the CGI monsters need to be more...lifelike? Sometimes they stand absolutely still. Or they suddenly change positions and activities the moment the camera angle changes. ...

I like to see the meeting they had to make this show
First thing is the games in Australia are rated M for mature audiences, but the demographic age here is for kiddies. little disappointing, but what every. The op makes me want to grab my hammer and bash my skull open. Theres some lore involve that makes me happy, but the characters are to happy and oblivious of the dangers around them like the forest of death that has things that kill people. ...

    Definitely for children.
Not the most riveting or interesting anime. If you're a fan of Monster Hunter, you probably won't enjoy this. The monsters are not animated very well, the dialogue is cringey, and overall, it wasn't a good experience.

If you have children or are under 10, you'll probably like this? Otherwise, not a fan.

it seems alot of people dont get this is a spin-off
obviously its for the monster hunter stories game where you ride the monsters. but people are complaining that they should have just made a anime for the main series. the main series however has no real story and coming up with an original story would have presented alot of problems. i enjoy this series as it is very light hearted which is what monster hunter has always been. its never been a dark ...

Not as bad as people say
so I've been watching this show and so far it isn't as bad as people say there is a plot and story within this show that has the kids going out into the world to explore more in later episodes the first few are centered around the kids in the village and their learning of Riding and kinship, also the animation for the monsters isn't really that bad I find it cool how they have CG animations to ...

  • Alright, just alright.
I'm a huge MH fan and I'm hoping to get into stories for when it releases in the west, so I started watching this.
Three episodes in, I'm enjoying it, but not that much.
The monster animation isn't too bad. With some, it looks fake as hell (*cough* Azurous), but with others, it works. I like the story and most of the characters. I really like the concept of riders and how it is ...
